[Guild]Tea Time Party invitation

I have been looking at ToS for a while and plan to play it a lot during the upcoming open beta, like most of us. But it’s an mmorpg and I can’t see mmorpgs being fun if you don’t group up with people, thus I decided to straight-out make a guild. Because why not.

But guilds don’t exist yet, how will this work??

Tea Time Party will be largely an unofficial guild as long as it takes it for the system to become supported. In the beginning we will be operating via the friends list, a private members-only reddit, and a set of private IRC rooms. The gathering will still work more or less the same as most of the guilds. It will simply be built outside the game.

Cool! Then what is the “Tea Time Party”?

TTP is a guild dedicated to people that don’t have time to play the game.

You heard me right. Personally I study at a collage for about 10 hours a day and then go back home with a lot of homework, a lot of us have long work-shifts and so on. The main reason why I often left mmorpgs was that I didn’t meet the requirements for being “active”. Sometimes you just don’t have the energy to log in even once in a week, that happens. TTP will be the kind of a slow-moving, casual guild built around understanding that you have only as much free time at your hands and maybe you don’t spend it all in front of your PC.

The name quite obviously comes from the legendary British tea-time, a short break to enjoy your favorite beverage before going back to work. I think it fits the idea nicely.

Yes, coffee lovers can join too. As long as you don’t despise tea.

Well…Actually, I want to join. How can I do that?
Simply fill this form and post it as a comment, I will be gathering us all up about a week before the beta starts:

 Where do you come from?
In what time-frame do you want to play?
What is your common goal in the game? (Exploring, grinding, socialising, competing?)
Do you have any friends that want to join the guild together with you?

So how will you decide?

I will pick members in a fashion that assures we will be online to enjoy the game together, I will try to make sure that we have common goals and I will make sure that no friends are split-apart. Truly nothing else will matter.

Any rules in the guild?

Only one: Don’t spoil the party. Since we’re all busy we’re probably also all mature, so it shouldn’t be hard to understand for anyone. In the beta there won’t be much of ruling at all, it’s going to be short anyway. After guild features come out it is possible that characters per player will be limited to one, in order to accommodate as many players as possible.

How big will the guild be?

I don’t plan to invite more than 40 people. Maybe even less.

I see what you did here.

As moderators of the ToS reddit decided they don’t want guild advertisement around for now (as it risks a bit of chaos) we will have to try going through the process here, on the ToS forums. Forgive me for the bit of confusion this might have caused.
