Ah, I apologize, got carried away theory crafting and had forgotten this was a PVE fencer guide
STR CON DEX is definitely more optimal for PVE.
If only kTOS barb/rode buffs came to iTOS, then I’ll seriously consider it. Right now I do agree that rode is a little clunky.
Yup, I have a different spawn camp but similar to yours. Killed 2 or 3 and then change channel. Now I have like over 9000 Upent Bark and 0 Lizard Amber
Mind if I just clarify something up? My own opinion of course, nothing more. People tend to take a position where if its only a flat damage increase its disregarded. Please bear in mind that those flat increases paired up with multi hits its the majority of your damage output, even more later on with Enhance attributes. Strip a skill of its +y flat damage composition and youll be only doing x times your base attack damage per skill. And fencer’s do not have the luxury of high base attack weapons. Not implying anything, just a heads up, thank you!
@Lis Point taken, did some math, at barb 2, without a weapon, seism hits for 1054 x1.7 multi-hit multiplier, 100% attribute bonus and crit which will bring it to 7167 while barb 3 lvl 10 seism hits for 11913. Definitely a significant difference.
However, I did not mention the other reasons for not picking up barb 3, which is the circle 3 skills being lackluster. Most barbs do not pick up embowel, stomp kick, giant swing and while pouncing is good, its cooldown is way too long. This leaves us a skill rotation of helm chopper, cleave and seism till rank 6 which is frankly, to me, not worth it. I feel skipping barb 3 for corsair or rode would provide us with alot more, for example, a lvl 5 dust devil with 2 overcharges could make up for the 5k damage difference between seism 5 and 10 while still providing utility skills such as JR/Hook.
Thanks for the heads up though, I totally forgot that flat damage scales with multi-hits and attributes.
@Stiltzkinn no problem whatsoever, thank you for the effort put in the math. I might be wrong though but i believe Seism is not a true multi hit skill, it just divides all the damage into 3 waves. Got any idea regarding this? Because it would heavily affect the math behind it. By 200% physical atk + 2x its base damage, at that. If it were truly a 3 hit skill i believe we would see mugh higher values.
Edit: what gives it away is that whenever you crit one hit of Seism you end up criting every single one, hence my doubt.
@Lis Opps, yup it is not a multi-hit skill but rather, a ‘fake’ multi-hit with a 1.7x modifier as researched in this thread: ‘Fake’ Multi-hit Damage Formula
I took some shortcuts in the math so it is definitely not accurate
Used a 1.7x, 2x(attribute 100%) and 2x(crit rate), got lazy with the crit rate. Crit rate is more of 1.5x + crit attack so I thought to round it off with 2x.
First sorry for my bad english!
Now if the problem is mages… basic attack doesnt hit so hard… and the skills i can always avoid then…
The only purpose to put points in STR is because of the rank bonus??
Since i found out that critical power is much more importante than 82 more dmg in attack!
Idk if im saying things right… but i want to make the perfect choice!
That’s why i didnt expend any points!
will make screenshot for you when i get home!
I started my characther 2 days ago… and i plan to get 126 today!
Clearing maps is not hard even questing! I few need for points only in bosses!
thx
Mages in later maps will hit undodgable 2k, you really need con for it
I dont get what you are trying to say in this part but from what I understand anyway, str isn’t only 82 attack. here’s what I said earlier regarding str
So if put only 1:4 con dex will be bad??
For now it won’t be, but look at what would happen in the future. Right now we have 7 ranks, that’s +60%(not sure if the first rank is counted, but if it is it’s 70%) more str bonus, 100 str means 160. If we have more ranks, your str gets more.
Thanks for all the advice man greatly appreciated. I think ill got with the 100 stat base line and then go 1:1:4 to help me do just a smidgen more damage. I think that 1 circle into corsair will work wonders. I really like to add utility/support to any of the classes I play. I find straight damage boring so the circle in corsair will be put to good use. Also leather makes better protection than plate simply because of the evasion yea? Does that mean I should get points into the leather armor attribute instead of the plate?

Can we tank magic damage with Mdef gears? Sage Wall for example

I forgot to say, I won’t go Rodelero route since I do solo most of the time. Exploring and stuffs.
Just curious how much a shield can do in late game though. It’s my first time playing Swordie
Thank you for all the solid advice. One last question would be what are some mid to late game items I should be on the look out for. I know of most of the staples cafrisun bettleback Petamion and all that. But I’m not sure whats some of the best equips for this seriously tanky build. And also if its not to much to ask I would like a critique on my build.
For gears you could check out the equipment section, items are about the same anyway no matter what your base classes are

Oh okay soz about that. I thought that because my build path was different that different items would be needed for optimization. Glad to hear that your equipment guide will still help me out. I must say well done on the guide as a whole sir well done. Also since I’m going for a more tanky build is it better to go with glad over phada so my evasion doesnt take a hit?
Sweetness
Thanks for checking out my build. Since you didnt mention anything negative about it I guess that its good? Is this close to what your running aswell? Also for phada or glad I think I will go with glad simply because I don’t like that evasion decrease of phada. Trying to tank it ous ya know? Need all the evasion I can get
