Guide to Fencer / Doppel / Bullet Marker [PVE]

get at least a respectable amount of str to benefit from rank bonus, you can put all the dex and con you want afterwards

Can you explain a bit more please

you get 10% str bonus per rank.

Example Rank 2>rank 3, you get 10% more str rank 3>4 is another 10%, and so on

So should i put str points in late rank or it’s not important when i put them ?

PS : Does every class get these 10% ( cleric/archer/wizard )?

Not important when you put them, up to you.

Yes, classes benefit from 10% increase in int and str per rank

How I wish venier got aoe attack ratio. I was thinking of getting a vubbe fighter gloves too just so I can hit like aoe attack ratio of 9.

Yes, as far as leather sets go nothing can really outdo it until virtov, I personally don’t like roxona leather gloves too.

Fencer and barb have str or dex scalling skills ? Or no scalling ?

It’s important to note that getting sissel bands is not for frenzy - it’s for the crit rate. Unless you can reach upwards of 90% or maybe even 100% crit rate without sissel bands (this is really, really difficult if not impossible for swordsman classes - even hoplite 3) sissel bands provide more DPS than anything else, even phada. (Though phada is pretty bad in my book for fencer regardless because of the evasion decrease).

Most of this was already addressed, but crit rate really does not get outclassed by gems and stuff

If you unoptimally built your character around crit rate, the max you can get from gear and level 6 gems is 323 crit rate. Then you go full dex. That’s +another 413 crit rate including stat bonus points. Note this means no con or STR at all, which is also pretty unoptimal, but whatever

737 crit rate

Remove sissel bands, and you go down to 663.

663 crit rate is 77% crit rate on average high end mobs (120 critical resistance).

Add sissel bands back in, and you’re up to 88% crit rate.

That’s still a pretty large boost, and outclasses glad/phada in terms of dps even if you unoptimally built your character to revolve around crit rate (this includes 3 hair accessories, 2x lolopanther and you said you aren’t interested in ET, and crit rate awakens and not putting a single point in anything other than dex)

That’s pretty expensive to reliably hit 3 mobs at 88% crit rate. Don’t you hate it when the more you invest in Dex, the less crit rate it returns? Plus spears are just way superior to rapiers, that’s really unfair from IMC

Well reliable crit rate can be as low as 20%. That was just an extreme example to show the constant viability of sissel bands. As far as DPS is concerned, high strength or even full strength fencer typically is the best. But for this class you invest in dex for evasion. Crit rate is just a nice bonus

I have hit Fencer1 two days ago and after some playing, something came…

What the heck is the advantage of rapiers beside giving you access to fencing skills? I mean, when compared to the other weapons, mainly spears, as they do the same damage.

I’m not trying to badmouth this class, hell, I just play swordsman because of Fencer.

What I’m trying to do is a kind of reverse engineering, more like a reverse game designing. I mean, what the developers have in their minds when making a low durability, low aoe ratio, pierce only weapon…and that’s it?

Ya know what would be cool? Having a block button attribute like the peltasta, only that you just need the rapier equipped.

“Press C to use the guard of the rapier and raise your block by X%.”

IRL, Rapiers also do not give you Block. It give the ability to PARRY and Flanconnade can help you parry attacks.

Same DPS as spears? No kidding pls, Spears are superior in terms of options and DPS

rapier also give you attribute to have 15% more damage with pierce skill.
and you do get block skill at C2. LoL

Going full STR? No thanks, we still don’t have life-leeching items to make full STR build viable in late game scenario

I don’t like/advocate it either but it’s the most DPS

Same DPS “type”, not numbers.

Well, I said block because of the analogy, and because it is an easier mechanic to implement as it already exists in game. But of course, semantics wise, parrying (or riposte, I would prefer that one).

@jordyrein

I would accept your argument if the cooldown was 0. But we know that spin needs lots of time to use again.

EDIT: Now that you mentioned Flanconnade, how it really works? It sure is not a block mechanic, it seem more a dodge one, after I tested it. The bonus of Flanconnade is pretty unclear, description wise.

Heck, all the time I use Flanconnade it seems like nothing is happening, ya know, besides the double slash.

Well, whatever analogy. Next time please say “damage type” properly, okay.

FYI, Flanconnade is a C1 skill and it has 0s cooldown. This means it is spammable and ping dependant. Preparation is more like an utility skills and you pretty much need 1 point in it

Yeah, I understand but to trade off protection for damage in MMO isn’t a wise decision. In a MOBA game, maybe

Sorry if I forgot to specify.

And those info are very clear from the description. Even the ping issue is pretty much obvious.

The thing is, it’s a damage nullifier? Dodging? Blocking? What really happens is the thing not clear.
