So I was wondering which gem to go with Yellow or Red Into Venier. I’m mainly High Dex and I’m not sure which to go Lv7’s in so some other thoughts might be useful @Kascly @Lostac
I think your gems are fine, choosing between yellow and red is just a matter of preference atm, they’re both good
BTW another question. Will accesories with element property like ice, fire, or poison be enough? They are much cheaper than physical attack accesories though.

You must check if you can achieve at least 650 critical rate in level 330. In common mobs with 100 crit resists you can achieve easy 77% critical chance.
About your gems, I made some math based on your status.
Note I took your max attack for red gems and minimal attack for yellow gem, mob leather and 50% on compose 7:
With red gem lv6(actual)
Normal = 6455
Critical = 10264
Epee = 24663
With yellow gem lv 7
Normal = 5267
Critical = 10808
Epee = 25940

Lol cartar stroke lv 15 is becoming really interesting.
I did a 290 boss rush yesterday with a rodel 3 murmillo and I was doing around 60k damage each cartar when he used both +strike debuffs. Boss is ghost type with a decent armor, lv 3 cartar stroke (50% attribute) using a +8 venier. now you can roll the absolute cartar man build with hl 3 rodel 3 into murmillo. just imagine this with a good 315 two handed sword, armor break and skill lv 10+, lethargy and a knockdown.
I always liked the idea of a sword 1 hl 1 pelt 1 rodel 3 for pvp, but I can see a hl 3 rodel 3 murmillo working for pve, kek. It would be a strike damage overkill and pelt 3 already has armor break. but people love cartar stroke!
Also, I’m so sad with those new changes. hl is getting better but until they make a special rapier pump our older skills when epee garde is UP (so we can switch to it do deal with cloth) it doesn’t change anything for us fencers. Remember that HL Corsair Fencer was one of the most popular builds before (along the barb variant) and they simple forget that it exists, while they keep making new weapons for memeshooter users (didel grand cross, marvel grand cross). Barb still keeps the buffs (Warcry/frenzy) and stun utilities as useful skills and the futureproof cleave for any new r9 skill, hl is much more limited, specially when switching weapons cancels epee garde (they could maintain the buff when you switch to a two handed sword, it’s not like the damage would bug and be affect) but imc…
I don’t get why IMC ■■■■■■ up thing this hard by turning fencer into a brain-dead one type of damage spammer like hoplite was (and the reason I didn’t like hoplite back then), killed the whole versatility of the class in favor of “you guys asked swordsman buffs, here, have this huge numbers because we are too lazy to rework how the game works” followed by “oh I went to ofar with the numbers so you guys won’t get a new weapon, enjoy being the new memeshooters locked into grand cross forever” and for doppels HL 2/3 was great already IMO, all skills are scalling great already with deeds and the new weapons. Everyone saw those 240k skyliners and 200k++ cartar strokes without lethargy. The moulinet one was ok I guess.
Buffs to swordsman 3…
Swordsman 3 was perfect already, it wasn’t necessary. To be honest I even think that Restrain should be nerfed.
And now you tell me that sword 3 cata 3 got buffed again? Like, what the ■■■■? They where the topdog swordsman build for pvp already and very strong at pve too with dragoon c2, literally no reason for this pain barrier buff, even for a pve perspective. They should give this for swordsman 1 and only as a +3 at best.
And catas… I can understand buffing Earth Wave and Doom Spike, but if they buff Rush too much (a literally a walking frost cloud with 32 hits in 10 seconds), lol. Dethrone also roots you even if you block/dodge the hit and also pierces lv 1 CC immunity.

1 second is sufficient to spam almost 2 composes. This gem is cheap too. You can skip it if you want, but is better stay with 2 seconds downtime than 3 seconds at all.
