Do those stuns even work on bosses? I’ve never been to a world boss where its ever been stunned or anything like that

stuns from sword 3? nah, probably PB. I’m really tempted to reset to sw3 if we get class reset. even physical monsters on lhadar do some slight push that cancel your skills
I expect similar monsters on higher levels
oh didnt think of pain barrier
Concerning sword3, the idea is based on stun-locking mobs only, as today it procs quite frequently. It is useful if your work is to pull mobs to a place and keep them there. I know there are classes better for this job, but we’re trying to make us useful here.
And concerning Boss CCing, doesn’t Murmillo knock’em back?
I might get a lot of hate or whatever for saying this since it seems to be a strong agreement lately but my argument for not choosing sword 3 is you can just tough it out to 330 cause once you finish all the quests why is there a need to stunlock the mobs anymore? I mean if you can freely class reset and just go sword 3 then switch back that’s cool and all but I don’t see the allure of picking it as a permanent build if your only goal is to kill the high level mobs. They also got nerfed in the patch notes I just posted, but I don’t know the specific details yet
swordsman 3 is for pain barrier, fighting against a mass of mobs is a nightmare without it… almost all of them pull you back and cancel the animation, needless to say its hard to dodge those attacks, pretty much for higher level stacking plate with a big hp pool is more rewarding plus the % of dmg reduction… but most of all are the non dodgeable mechanics that boss packs now and that’s when PB shines… i’m even planing on rerolling my fencer and doppel to swordsman3 variants, for example the only skilss that i use as a doppel 3 that aren’t doppel3 skills is cartar, skull swing, crown and crosscut skylinear but i would give them for more pain barrier since the freaking accuracy they pack is too big, with fencer3 is even worse, to the point that you don’t touch other skills besides those (in almost all cases exept those that picked hoplita2), i’m not saying that swords3 is a must but its pretty damn convenient.
Why not use the pain barrier monster card then? How does that work anyway, can it bypass the original PB cooldown? Can classes without pain barrier use it? etc I also haven’t had any of these knockback/skill cancel issues in the time that I’ve played so far except a couple where pb lv 5 was more than enough to handle it
I’m barb 3 so the barb 3 skills are too useful to me to pass up for a couple extra seconds of pain barrier. The new warcry is effectively a glass mole for me that lasts incredibly long. It pushes me from 1.3k phys to 2.1k phys in the 315 dungeon at the DPS check section. Pouncing is an amazing AoE filler during epee downtime, and I have it at lv 90 so it’s pretty strong too. +50 crit rate from cleave is going to become invaluable to me when the red gem patch hits because the most optimal distribution for dps is to give up all of your green gems for red gems even if your critical rate gets lowered by a lot for fencer
I also won’t be dealing with packs of mobs once I reach 330 which is mainly what I was getting at. I guess it depends how you want to use your character? I don’t see a point in grinding large packs of mobs (solo) after reaching the level cap
Oh and I should make this clear before it comes up I’m talking strictly from a PvE standpoint (which most people seem to be doing as well but still) I don’t care about PvP
it’s number of cards instead of stars, pretty low chance.
right now I’m holding up because I have lots of disables, but I still get annoyed on bosses that can bypass evasion+do weak attacks that knock me down.
things like golem punch on crystal mine where you have to evade manually, saalus gazing golem, some demon lords (forgot if mitris/helga)
I’m planning to set up something like SW3>pel>barb>Fencer 3.
You get cleave, helm chopper, things like that, then with rank 9 and 10 you will use your barb skills even less except warcry maybe. those stuns can stay too.
In the end what matter is what you want with your toon.
I myself want to deal with mobbing, for bossing I think fencers in general could do very well. I know doppel can do this job pretty well, but what we could see in new maps is walking with no def makes you kiss the floor more often.
anyway, to those with cryo friends
I was actually under the impression it was number of stars so nvm that then
As far as rank 9/10 go I’m a bit pessimistic and feel like we’ll never be seeing those or at least not for a very very very long time
One thing I have to comment related to that. I was afraid my peltasta>rodel>corsair was going to be ■■■■. But then I found out that overall, I’m doing pretty fine, as 80% of the battle the mob is stunned (Montano, Montano, Dust Devil, Dust Devil, Dust Devil, Hook, repeat)
In the end I concluded that my build is actually pretty good.
Btw, if I use a shield, pretty much the mobs don’t get to move never (till SP ends) again. (AOE itens needed, of course)
I think my Fencer is going on a backburner for now. Need to get my scout to rank 7 and might just level up a Lancer. Don’t feel like going through all those hard maps on own…
Finally able to call myself a cool kid. Hope to learn some handy things from this thread. (Sw3/Barb2/Fen3 If you were wondering.)
Seems you’ve followed my build proposed in your thread.
And welcome to our club.
With tomorrow maintenance, all issues with boss level in missions will be fixed. I’m bored fighting bosses 15+ level than me.
that’s sad, ice walls seem to be level 1 only
thanks for testing
I guess this can still be used as a last resort
