Guide to Fencer / Doppel / Bullet Marker [PVE]

When i look on solmiki i don’t what to think about it. Well we don’t need +2, just give me Spada with higher damage and put there some DEX/Crit Rate

Gven how meaty the updates on kToS have been recently I’d like to assume we have decent chances of getting Rapiers this week.

PA = Physical attack
SA = Skill attack
CA = Critical attack
EA = Elemental attack
ETD = Enemy type damage(damage against medium, large, beast, mutant…)
TM - Target Modifier

I do not recommend sell your venier because you will lose 40% increase in critical damage with epee.
Here a example with my noob:
venier = 17.387
cata rapier = 14.706

@Kascly: Tks, so Epee will amplify everything in T0. This makes crit atk, ele atk and any patk boost much more powerful. Venier is still the king I guess

@hienng1991 @Kascly yep you have rights here… But 330 lvl and nothing better feel sad.

Venier is a girl though, so she’s a Queen.

Edit: Also, @Kascly, I think EA and ETD are multiplied by the Normal Critical, no?

They are only added following the damage formula.

I doubt they will give us news rapier. Venier is “hard” to farm and is the way IMC found to hold fencers interested.

Now everyone is distracted by gender talk. Don’t bring Apache helicopter in here pls.

Not my intention, I hate those discussions too. Just pointing out that Swords in general in Latin languages (Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian and Romanian) are treated as “Girls” - so, it may be not perceived in English, but they are girls to us. ‘-’

But thank you for the PATK and DEF clarification, I forgot the damage formula… I must save that in a notepad later.

Im still undecided on weather or not I should make a barb2-corsair1-Fencer3
or If i should keep my Barb3-Fencer3 and get Corsair on another class >_>

I think you’ll loose a lot by not going Barbarian3, but Lostac keeps saying that no, he didn’t missed it.
I really don’t know what to say at this point, just for you to try making both and decide what suits you best from your own experiences.

I’ve made them both, and I can say that, although I don’t like Barbarian, Pouncing is indispensable, and Warcry without the attribute may weight heavily on later levels, after Rank8 and beyond.
Corsair, on the other hand, gives you more party play, PvP play, and even helps in solo play with the Flag. Lostac keeps pointing out, and rightly at doing so, the 12.5% Flag’s Protection, which is a no brainer in places like Uphill Defense and Mobbed Areas (it can potentially go to 62.5%, if you have a party of 5 Corsairs - that is unlikely though, but I often have parties with Me+1 and rarely but not so much, Me+2, and when that happens, yellow Misses keep appearing on the screen all the time).

It also has Hook, which is extremely valuable both in PvP and PvE - PvP is something really lacking in the Swordsman tree, so it’s very valuable indeed. But again, so is Pouncing with the knockback attribute - as it can immobilize 3 targets for a long time (9 seconds at lv5). Dust Devil helps a lot too! It spins the monster, and works like a “panic” attack, when you’re with low HP and being hit may potentially kill you - it’s also not a week attack, it’s a 3-multihit skill and works against every target that’s rounding you.

Depending on what you are intending to do with your Fencer. Damage = Barb 3, Utility = Corsair.

@Palazzo: You reminded me of my time studying Germans. They have die, der and das. Basically 3 types of genders for every single noun

If you look at it carefully, you don’t lose that much in overall slash dps compared to barb 3, you lose warcry mainly. (and slash burst from pouncing, but hey you get slash dps back)

Dust Devil 3 hits ~ 3 charges always boosted by Cleave and Lunge except for the last dust devil hit, 20 second cooldown.

Since I’m the same build as Lostac, I can offer some insight.

You lose some DPS every whatever the cooldown of Pouncing is and from War Cry attribute. Question is, do you care when you can spam Fencer’s 0CD skills all day long?

Corsair gives you party play utility. You never know maybe one day they’ll buff Fever damage buff from Jolly Roger to actually do some.

Jolly Roger in general is great, you get more money, chance to get an extra item from the mob, party wide evade, ability to use it to distract packs of mobs, so that you can take them out 1 by 1 as they attack the flag.

Hook with attribute is great both PvE and PvE. Oh 3 casters bunched together? Hook them up and they can’t do anything but stand there and take your hits for 9 seconds. Don’t take Keel Hauling though, 1 extra second on Hook is probably much more useful.

Dust Devil is a decent skill and amazing short CC that can’t be resisted. Lunge+Cleave+Dust Devil x3 is the only combo I ever use that utilises lower ranks. Mostly only on non leather targets.

Corsair’s costume is also great. I’m currently using it instead of the a Fencer one!

So once again up to you. Do you want more damage? Take barb3. Do you want more utility take Corsair.

You also may want to cinsider that if there’s no new class at rank 9 that works with Fencer, you can take Corsair 2 for Hexen!

The thing is I already have a barb3-Fencer.
Its just gettting rather boring, which is why ive been trying to think of new builds for Fencer.
Something that offers a little more…

The problem is that Im out of character spaces and I don’t really feel like spending the 33 TP AGAIN!
So its either delete my Barb3 Fencer for a (hopefully) more fun Fencer.
Or Delete my Hop2-Corsair2-Doppel for a (hopefully) more fun Fencer…

Problem with deleting my Hop2-corsair2-doppel is that I lose one of my farming classes…
But I need to drop it anyway because theirs no r8 for it…

I might reroll both actually…

If you are in time for the event there’s a TP reward somewhere on the last 5 I believe so spending 33 tp isn’t a problem.

Keep your Barb3 > Fencer (since it’s already a fencer and you probably spent attributes on it already) then make a sword3 variant if you feel like it, though gameplay isn’t very different from a Barb-Fencer since you take both classes for buffs.

If you want something different you should take hoplite/HL classes

Is anyone else here not liking the concept of matador after rank 8 and would just go shinobi or something?
