[Guide] Mage Builds General Discussion šŸ’„

Hello everyone!

I’m playing a Wizard and going for Wiz>Cryo3>Chrono3 and I wondered what attributes should I focus on learn first (max)?

Quick question: at what level does Meteor reach its maximum AoE? Level 2 has a bigger AoE than 1, level 3 bigger AoE than 2, etc. What level has the biggest AoE? 10?

I know, it will still have a limit of 10 targets hit, but it can come in handy hitting targets that are spread over a larger area… Provided you finish casting.

does anybody have any information of circle 8+ classes yet and their skills and/or requirements (aka hidden classes) ?

same targets, while link shares the damage received. So if you have 5 guys linked and hit them with missile, it would work the same but they would all take damage for each hit.

  1. ice bolt: freeze chance (max at 5)
  2. Ice bolt damage (as soon as you start earning enough silver sink it until you get lv10-20. max at 100)
  3. Ice pike damage (see above)
  4. energy bolt damage (if you put more points into EB for reduced charge time. You will depend on this skill at times while leveling cryo)
  5. cryomancer shield attribute (if you decide to use shields)

chrono attributes are few. The crit buff on quicken, crit debuff on slow, reduced mp on stop, and ability to stop bosses should all be taken.

First of all, thank you for the advise I really appreciated it, I should gave more info. I’m going for the support path.

I’m Lv. 56 Wiz > Cryo 2
My stats are CON 27, INT 62, SPR 19, I added a lot of INT because I’m playing solo, I’m not adding more INT ( I’ll reset it later).
I bet on Ice Pike as main damage and Ice bolt just for freeze annoying mobs and sub-zero shield to freeze ranged (annoying) mobs.

My attributes atm.

Cryo

  • Subzero Shield: Duration (Lv.1)
  • Subzero Shield: Counterattack Enhance (Lv.4 Max lvl)
  • Shield Mastery: Enchant (Lv.3)
  • Rod Mastery: Ice (Lv.3 Max lvl)
  • Ice Wall: Cryorite (Lv. 1)
  • Ice Pike: Enhance (Lv. 20)
  • Ice Bolt: Enhance (Lv. 16)
  • Ice Bolt: Chance of Freeze (Lv.1)
  • Cryomancer: Freeze Speciality (Lv.1)

Wizard

  • Cloth Mastery: Magic (Lv.2)
  • Reflect Shield: Reflect Damage (Lv.12)

I’m using eartquake because the cc.

I’m asking because I do not know if I’m doing it right (ā€œDo not bite off more than you can chew.ā€)

Why no more int? Int is how you kill things.

Hi dmhamilt.

Because I read support cryo>chrono don’t need more INT so I asked if my actual INT was good and I got answers as ā€œIt’s a lot of INT focus on CONā€.

I think unless you are going full for GvG/PvP, else it is better to have some decent INT,I just recently aware that Icewall damage also based on Caster’s matk so it might be more reasons for Cryo3 to go decent INT.

It is difficult to tell how many INT/CON is good, it is very subjective, but as long as you can survive the content that you are playing, you always have room to put more INT.

Hello guys!
I was wondering if you could help me to decide.
I’ve just got a Wiz3 and thought about going linker after that. But I’m totally lost what to do after linker2 (if 2)!
Could you suggest what could be OK with that in core? Apart from summoner classes if possible, i really dislike them…

Featherfoot might be one option. For what I’ve understood it has powerful single target skills which benefit from linker skills greatly. I don’t have much knowledge about linkers, though so I can’t comment on possible other synergies.

Though you don’t like summoner classes necro is the go-to filler option because of quick cast + flesh cannon. You don’t need circle2 of necro as it is now especially in a wiz3 build.

Cryo remains useful forever for its ability to lock down monsters right after casting hangman, and dealing cc to the most annoying elite monsters. It has poor dps and is terrible at boss killing.

Wiz3>Linker2>Necro>Featherfoot
Wiz3>Linker2>Necro>Warlock
Wiz3>Linker2>Cryo>Warlock

Wiz3>Linker>Ele3 ------or------ Wiz3>Ele3>Linker
Wiz3>Linker>Kino3 ------or------ Wiz3>Kino3>Linker

As I’m sure you understand, wiz3>linker1/2 is really a futureproofing build. You won’t see the best returns on it until we get another couple of ranks. Even then, you’re forced to sacrifice either Frost Cloud or the first rank of Warlock. Later on warlock may or may not become the prime dps class at those ranks, so its something to keep in mind.

So I need a bit of help here. I didn’t do any prior reading when I selected the Pyromancer class only to have been told by friends that I was better off picking something else. From other build suggesting pages I couldn’t find anything that included Pyro. Is there any way to save my character with a decent build or am I better off make my a new one?

If you’re Pyro2, you can go Thaumaturge.

There is nothing wrong with pyro. Level fireball and flame ground to max and you’ll be fine. Cryo has just been more recently buffed.

Did you have any specific plans for the rest of your build?

I did not no. I dunno where to go with it.

I’d just keep on with pyro. One of the nice things about wizard is that each class plays very differently, so if you decide to restart later with some other build it’ll still be kinda fresh.

builds that use pyro:
Pyro3 thaum3
Pyro3 chrono3
pyro2-linker-psychokino-XXX

Alright thanks for the tips, what’s the final build mean with the XXX at the end?

Actually wait, that last one. Pyro 2 linker psycho that can’t happen right? Linker and pyscho are on the same rank and you can only pick one or the other, right?

Its a place to put whatever you like. pyro2-linker-kino is for the combo in this video, and then you have two circles to do whatever in. Its a fairly common build for people going for Alchemist or Necromancer.
