Hey guys! COWBOY TANAKA here with a guide that will revolutionize the way you play ANY character in Tree of Savior.
What this guide will provide is a fresh new perspective on how to build your characters so that they are: Competitive; best-in-class; and most importantly, on equal footing with all other competitive players!
You may be asking, “How the hell does a UI feature do that?” Well, keep reading to find out!
Enjoy!

Background
Ever since ICBT2, there existed a UI feature which allows any player to “overlevel” attributes by one level. However, this UI feature was not a huge issue at the time because attributes required real, wall-clock time to train before they leveled up. The only attributes you could overlevel were ones with instant training time—this either meant no real benefit, or a 1% increase in damage for certain skills.
IMC’s recent decision to make all attributes train instantly (with a Token) turned this UI feature into an enormous issue.
If you don’t hop on the train and also take advantage of this UI feature, you will never be a competitive PvPer/GvGer/field bosser. The best part is, you’ll never get banned.
Okay. So what?
Competitive players either already abused this UI feature, or are making new characters to do so.
Why?
Recall that attributes which increase damage do so in a multiplicative manner. In contrast, almost all other damage increases in this game are flat damage modifiers, or additive modifiers.
I won’t go into the maths behind the damage formula, but basically multiplicative damage multipliers are really strong.
Now also recall that the main source of multiplicative multipliers in this game are skills and attributes. It’s probably clear by now what I’m getting at:
- Multiplicative damage modifiers are really strong.
- Most multiplicative modifiers come from attributes.
- There is an unfixed UI feature which lets you overlevel (go beyond the maximum level of) attributes.
- Competitive players either abused this UI feature, or are making new characters to do so.
You’re crazy. Why is one extra level in attributes such a big deal?
I might be crazy, but you’d also be crazy to not take advantage of the overleveled attribute UI feature. Let’s take a look at some attributes.
Two-handed Bow Mastery: Anti-Air
Deals 20% additional damage per attribute level to Flying-type monsters when equipped with a [Two-handed Bow].
The Anti-Air attribute for archers has a maximum level of 5. This translates into a 100% damage multiplicative damage increase against flying-type monsters, including flying-type field bosses.
Using the overleveled attribute UI feature, you can instantly gain an additional 20% multiplicative damage boost by leveling this attribute to level 6! You would have 120% additional damage against flying-type monsters.
If you are a Fletcher who is even remotely interested in killing field bosses for cubes, you would be insane to not abuse this UI feature. There is nothing in this game that gives you a 20% multiplicative damage boost. All gear in this game provides flat damage bonuses. There is no contest.
Quick Cast: Magic Damage
Increases magic damage by 10% per attribute level while [Quick Cast] is active.
[Quick Cast] is a very popular skill for Wizard classes at the moment because of this attribute. At level 5, you gain a 50% bonus to your MATK.
Guess what? By abusing the simple and easy-to-use overleveled attribute UI feature, you can gain an additional 10% bonus to your MATK by raising this attribute’s level to 6.
Again, there is practically no item in this game that can out-class a 10% MATK boost.
Joint Penalty: Lightning
Deals 10% additional damage per attribute level of the Lightning property attack to enemies affected by [Joint Penalty].
Sorry support character players—you also need to remake as well. If you’re a C3 Linker/C3 Chronomancer, you’d be an imbecile to not overlevel this attribute.
At level 6, you will provide an additional 60% Lightning property boost to targets affected by Joint Penalty. Why settle for a measly maximum level of 5 for only 50% Lightning boost for all electrocute Eles in your party?
Overleveled Attributes Forever !!
The example attributes I covered above are hardly exhaustive of the ‘overpowered’ choices. You can easily find which attributes are the best to overlevel… Or just go ahead and overlevel them all!
Regardless, I’ve compiled a list of a few more attributes that you should definitely overlevel if you wish to be competitive in this game at all:

Cool story. Enjoy your perma-ban!
Yeah, right. IMC won’t ban anyone for this. Trust me.

Did you know…?
There used to be a UI feature that affected both iToS and kToS that let you accept class change quests as many times as you wanted for any class in the game.
So these exploiters were banned, right?
Wrong.
Even now, there are kToS characters who are C3 for every class in the game running free. IMC fixed the UI feature that caused this, but never corrected or deleted the characters that abused this.
Yeah, but didn’t IMC recently ban those …
I have heard of IMC bans in the following cases:
- “Exploiting” an instant respawn area in Roxona, resulting in the “unfair” gain of hundreds of millions of silver. (Link)
- Players taking advantage of an unintended anvil enhancement mechanic to guarantee +15 upgrades. (Link)
- IMC banning botters and gold sellers.
- IMC banning some of the Boleto fraudsters.
Fair enough. But notice anything funny about these ban cases?
How about the fact that they’re all for violations that would directly ruin the economy?
Why do you think IMC has worked so hard at their little machine learning (ML) pet project for identifying and banning bots? IMC only cares about preventing inflation and a broken economy because these are the main turnoffs for any new sacrificial f2p players.
In short: IMC will only ban you for anything directly related to the economy.
Additionally, despite multiple posts about it ever since ICBT, IMC has not posted ANY kind of response indicating that they care about players using this UI feature!
You’ve convinced me. How do I abuse this UI feature?
You can find clear and detailed instructions in this UI feature report post:
