Grand Cross worth it at higher lvls?

I read that until Didel Grand Cross, the normal Grand Cross (well upgraded) is the best choice, but the lack of damage makes me wonder if that’s correct.

I’m a Quarrel Shooter BTW.

I’m currently using a +9 Grand Cross at level 147 (A2/QS3), and it’s damage is still higher than any non-over-upped 120 weapon. I haven’t tested with level appropriate over-upped weapons because I’m stingy.

The thing you need to calculate is that when you hit running shot, you will do 80% extra damage (280% instead of 200%) with a Grand Cross. It’s very difficult for 120 weapons, and I suspect even the 170 weapons, to match that kind of bonus without significant upgrades. Basically I guess what I would say is, if the new weapon’s attack stat is less than 1.8x your Grand Cross’ attack, it’s not worth ‘upgrading.’

That all of course assumes you are using Running Shot. It’s always better to switch to a 2h bow for flying enemies, and it will do less damage with skills against all enemies.

If you can +10 or above your GC (plus duel socket) it can probably last you over level 200 when paired with Arde/Mana-mana. Unless against flying enemies which a high end bow might outdmg it.

Ive been using seimos xbow as of now, is it best to sell seimos and just use grand cross (make it +10)?

Personally I would say yes. You’re going to need the Grand Cross anyways once you are 240 and trying to make a Didel GC, so you might as well get it now for it’s free damage boost.

Just for fun, a +10 Grand Cross will hit roughly the same damage as a +10 Seimos Crossbow while using Running Shot. Of course the Seimos is better while Running Shot is down, but the down time is only like 8 seconds, with a 27 second up time.

(That calculation doesn’t actually take into account the Critical Damage and Ice Damage on the Seimos bow, so you would actually probably match it much lower in real life)

Ive been thinking about it a lot… Because if i am able to sell seimos xbow, i would be able to get mana mana…

People use GC for a long time because they are mostly saving silver to get a Mana-mana at lv170 and they do not need to weapon swap for the +2 QS skills.

If I have infinite silver I will also be using Seimos @120 and Magas/Catacomb @170 etc. but the problem most of us are facing is that we might not even have enough silver by the time we reach 170 to get a mana-mana haha

I see xD I guess ill try to get it to +10 then (currently +8). So far I cant really tell the damage diff due to when I use running shot, both deal random crits ranging from 2k-4.4k.

You can use GC until you get didel GC.You are not going to feel any real difference with other xbows…But I recommend a good 2h bow for flying mobs
