General review of the game so far

Ok hello everyone, im a Mexican player on the Zemyna server with the team name of “Aurelios”. I’m level 71 class: Swordsman - Peltasta - Hoplite. I will give my first impresion and the general review of this beta test (didn’t play the first one so dont know how it was), i will NOT include any bugs or lag issues on this review (thats another topic).

The first day was amazing, was very exited, and i stayed playing the whole night and the whole day with 2 friends. We were having lots of fun, lerning mechanics, the craft, boss card and the gem systems. The next day (after a very good sleep :3 )

I kept leveling alone, and then i lost a little bit of my excitement when i found that the game kinda force the grind on you, and that there are no alternatives for level up. The other things that i got on mind was, the whole map is big, but each little instance or “zone” are very very small, and they give you the “no explotarion” feeling because they are not open, they are just a few roads on max 3 directions and 2 or 3 portals to the next zone. After that i felt dissapointed, the feeling the game was giving me was “S totally linear game with hours and hours of obligatory grind” (dont rage at me yet please T.T). I gave a try to grind, but as a “tanky” role, my damage was low, and being next to another class that one shot everything while i take like 1 minute with each mob was getting my inspiration away, i know i would make less dps because im not a damage dealer but the difference is HUGE, even the “support” role was doing lots of dps with some spells.

After all that, my desire to play was low, but i kept playing, obviosly i was just like level 40 and thats not enough to judge a game. A friend of mine, that was like level 70 already, told me that indeed there is some exploration, very very very little, but still some. He told me that there are a lot of quests that some random objects on the ground can give you, and that every npc you see on the maps gives quest, so i decided to take a look again on all the maps, and indeed figured out that i was missing a lot of quests. My desire came back and i began to look out for quests and new monsters to fill my journal. I got to level 70 with very few grinding, just quests. I got to another “obligatory” grind phase because i dont find quest anymore and my next quest is for 80+ but after 70 levels i think some grind is not too bad, and i was used to grind on other games, i just need to find party because of my tanky role, but its not too bad, i want to add that the difference i feel on the quest exp rate and grind exp rate is big, i was leveling up fast until i needed to grind, or maybe is just my imaginagion, didn’t do any math on that.

OK, next. I love the “LOTS OF MINI BOSSES” thing. Its way better than many other game that the bosses are only on the dungeons, the mini bosses are fun, and that keep me on the road, i really dont know if you can farm a boss or if after you kill it you can’t kill it again because the bosses are “quest” (i know you can still kill it if a party member has not but thats a different thing). But again i had some bad time with the bosses because my damage was very low. After i got Hoplite it was way easier to kill monsters but still i feel some kind of weak.

I think i will end the review saying that, i feel the game need more things to do than just level up, there is no profession system, there is just 1 mini game (the boss card minigame), so for now there is nothing to do than level and level and level, and players need some variety BUT maybe is because its just a beta, i mean the game is not fully developed, i really hope they add variety and not just grind forever without a reason. Dont know how the pvp on the game is because haven’t test it.

Ok to sum up everything (if you dont want to read all the above):
1.- First days are very very very fun.
2.- On my opinion the exp rate is just on the right point, but they need to add alternatives to level, not just grind grind grind. Not everyone want to grind. (Clarifying that im not complaining about the exp rate, please dont confuse)
3.- The exploration is very very little and for me thats bad, but at least it has some.
4.- Big difference on damage between a tank and a damage dealer (and i’ve tried different builds).
5.- Craft system is weird, you need to wait until you get the recipe and then farm the materials, and some time the materials are drops from quest bosses so you dont really “search materials” you just need to keep doing quests.
6.- On my personal opinion i would like to see “less mob spam” on screen, theres a ridiculous amount of mobs on the map, they should spawn a little less but increase the exp to balance the lost on monsters. Obviously not everyone will be on agreement with this.

I think i have more to say but can’t remember right now

Final score for the “beta” game: 7.8/10
Good game so far, with its pros and cons, but still need to see the final product to give a better review.
Thanks all for reading.

EDIT: I was told that right now the exp rate is like x3 or something like that, that means that quest will give way less exp on the official release, that means obligatory grind on early levels, they need to add more quests then.
