General kTest Thread

It doesn’t make it any less disgusting though.

People are well aware KR gets these things. Every single korean game -ever- has pc cafe bonuses.

So @Doddler in the other thread posted a link to the full interview which invenKR had with the IMC devs and Nexon representatives. In that interview contained the line

ネットカフェのプロモーションでもこのような利点を提供する形で企画しています。

which translates into “We also plan to provide benefits through such things as cafe promotions.” Now we see their plan manifestly.

I’ll try to get the translation for the full interview out when I next have time. It contains some information on game monetization.

You can save your complain for later when IMC actually applies this to steam server. This is the Nexon work, not IMC.

not sure what you all impressed about o_o, this is normal in korea where some cafe’s are sponsored by big companies like nexon or hangame. this can usually be accesed by none cafe users via cash shop items.

literally every nexon game haves a Cafe buff, is a secondary way of profit as they get part of teh revenue from those cafes from people that would rather play there than in their houses.

I don’t understand, do people not know how Korean games work?

Net cafe bonuses for Korean servers is extremely common and this is pretty normal.

Usually you don’t see these additions on international servers.
It’s not about the cafe buff, it’s about the bonus it gives. 3/5 buff literally give you more silver than other players, and the movespeed give you unfair advantage in PvP as well. What next? Increase drop chance of rare items as well?

And do I have to remind you that the game was just recently made harder for normal players to trade or use market, only to promote this kind of bs?
What does it cost to play from a nexon cafe though? Can people pay one fixed fee and be able to pay as long as they want there without being kicked out? or do you have to pay a fixed + variable fee for each hour you play there?
You pay for the hour you play, nothing special, this is just a scheme that attracts people to the cafe. There’s really nothing wrong with it except the kind of bonus it gives is just absurd.

there’s very few net cafe in the US… so do I have to fly to Korea? do I get flying to korea bonus buff too? Nexon need to chat w/ the tourism industry :joy:

And very lazy money making idea too

Korea… the wasteland of free to play mmos.

No, I had no idea it was like this. No i’m not any less disgusted by it.

And I don’t think thats how Korean games work, but rather how publishers are able to operate over there. Which sounds like a problem, a ■■■■■■ up problem, and should not be viewed as “normal”.

I think I know where this is going.

 1. Begin making a great game with great potential.
 2. Create a crazy hype train for it.
 3. Sell it to few local pubpishers to fuel your development and prepare to self-publish on steam.
 4. Create even more hype through betas.
 5. Happily implement every crazy p2w stuff publishers want.
 6. See how shiet hits the fan when they release.
 7. Self-release on steam without p2w.
 8. See how most of the players leaving their publishers and happily playing through VPN.
 9. ???
 10. PROFIT!

Now you have:

 • Money from selling the game locally + % of publisher’s profit.
 • Even more money from publishing through Steam

How does bonus move speed win you the game? Go on, tell me. <_<

Learning three attributes at a time doesn’t make you win. You still spend the same amount of silver.

Lower fees for the market will hardly make you richer.

Must… Not… Quit.

I thought Koreans lived trapped in their rooms doing everything via the Internet. (It’s the world’s best connection, right?)

… Unless Nexon KR is secretly allied to the government, with a plan to make the largest possible number of young people leave their homes, and then lock them outside to see who survives, creating a new generation of super Koreans!! :scream:

Heck, I think I have a script for a comic here.

Don’t disturb me for the next two months, guys!

U get to kite better? Reach mobs faster?

I don’t think that saving our complaints for later is a good idea. There’s no turning back once this kind of BS hits the international server.

Come back after you’ve dueled with a Cataphract. You’ll see.

All this overreacting is hilarious as hell xD

Please guys, unless the international open beta starts and provides the same adjustments there, none of all this stuff you are complaining about will actually be set in stone. If nexon wants all this knowing the Koreans are accepting it, IMC will implement everthing happily.

Since I’m expecting IMC as not being that stupid, most of the stuff you dont wanna have in our version will probably stay in Korea anyways. So chill out and wait.

And for the case you terribly wanna play on kobt, just deal with it.

Come back after duels give you phat loot, make you richer, and actually matter.

You know kiting is not limited to duels, right? It also works against mobs.

Also, since your definition of winning seems to only be related to money (which is a narrow view), do you realize time = money? And what does extra movement speed saves you? That’s right, time.

+2 may not seem like much, but it adds up. Since there’s no cap that we know of, where is Nexon gonna stop?
