General kCBT3 Changes - Summary

Rarity-wise, I’m not sure as of this moment.

Slot wise, they seem to follow certain patterns. For example, the majority of Schwarzer Reiter gems all go on Subweapons (i.e. Pistols), and Peltasta’s Shield Lob Gem goes on a Subweapon as well.

Almost all Pyromancer and Cryomancer skills are Weapon gems, with the exception of Snow Rolling which goes on Boots.

I’ve made a spreadsheet which lists the raw data on gems, sadly I’ve not found the effects of all of them, but this lists what monster drops it (via the KR name and the icon used) and what skill the gem effects, and what slot it can be socketed to.

Check it out here.

I didn’t play Ranger in iCBT or early kCBT3 to make a comparison, but I recently tried out Ranger and I must say I enjoy it.

High Anchoring is good for picking off a large group of damaged mobs, plus the hitstun it provides is good soft CC. The fact it’s gained overheat (2 uses) is good. It would be nice if it had a quicker charge time, as I feel the damage isn’t worth the charge time. But it does hit a lot of enemies naturally.

Barrage is very good damage and quick CD. One of my favourite skills. Critical Shot is a 1 point wonder, but decent to use.

I’ve only gotten to C2 Ranger. Time Bomb Arrow is faster but still has a long cooldown.

Also reminder that a large majority of Archer tree skills have had their attack typings removed (due to the high amounts of Pierce skills), and some skills gain bonus damage when attacking a certain armors, meaning they’ll get bonus damage vs. that type, but not reduced damage.

I’d say they’re decent.

Hmm, if they take a socket slot, I’m not sure if it’s really worth +1 a skill compare to just getting +attack or +crit rate on weapon.

Especially for physical damage class, if the max level green gem really is +90 something crit rate (for a rather ‘weak’ drawback of -55 crit damage) which would applies to all things.

Although if they can be upgraded just like normal gems…+10 to a skill?

From the looks of things, I don’t think so at the moment, but I’m not sure since I’ve not gotten my hands on one yet.

I’d say they can’t be, all mongems I’ve seen socketed have been 1*.

Yeah people complained about some of classes but I think the real problem was low exp rate and it made character progression very slow.

Wondering about pistol…if it become sub-weapon, Can I still auto-attck with it?

I think it will be pressing C to trigger subweapon attack.

This user has uploaded new videos of Cartar Stroke in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iGSvytnzxs

I’m sure he has CS at lvl 15, because it’s the same character from previous videos.

As you can see, he doesn’t wait the casting time over and dealt a lot of damage. Maybe every casting filling represents the skill lvl.

No update today? :no_mouth:

It’s the weekend, they don’t update on Saturdays and Sundays.

Oh my bad! Ty for answer.

Is there any update on party system?(party limit?) since iCBT1?

I really hope they rise it up to 10 peoples :disappointed_relieved:

It’s still 5 people maximum, but they’ve said in the past that they’re looking to raise it to 10 players eventually. They may have scrapped the idea, or are just working on it.

Oh…that a bad news…

Thank for the answer guy, very appreciate your work

Just clarifying a bit more information about mongems.

  • They drop from their respective mob anywhere (field or dungeon). It’s not limited to dungeons like normal gems usually are. (There are exceptions.)
  • Mongems cannot be enhanced. Trying to do so will cause this prompt to appear: ‘This gem cannot be strengthened.’
  • Extraction of mongems does nothing to the gem. It can’t lose a level as it can’t be enhanced.

Here’s an example of a Mongem, this one drops from Caro in Cobalt Forest. The gem’s effect is ‘Ice Bolt skill level +1’.

Haven’t tested it yet, can you use skill gems for skills you don’t have? Or is it like the current weapon effects that just adds +1 to skills you’ve unlocked?

I’d need to get my hands on a mongem for a class I have, but I’m pretty sure it only counts for skills you have unlocked.

This is obvious, but putting the Caro Gem I have into a crossbow doesn’t give me access to Ice Bolt on my Ranger.

I’ll have to see if these gems are tradeable as well.

Ah, I was hoping it was a little something more

It’s not very useful most of the time since the normal stat gems seem a lot more important.

I just did a few more tests.

  • Mongems are untradeable like normal gems. But you can trade weapons with mongems socketed, and then extract them, with no penalty.
  • Mongems drop upon death in dungeons like normal gems. You can pick them back up after.
  • The +1 skill level effect of a mongem doesn’t unlock a skill. You have to have the skill unlocked for it to take effect. (Just like the weapon effect.)
