Too bad most of the time you pull a group of 50:50 magic/physical monsters to tank. Whichever way you choose to tank it - holding C to block or use slithering - you lose in the end.
Iâm less sure about that. I think weâre becoming a lot more item dependent with the transcend system. But I think we have potential for some pretty stupid stuff with it. But I doubt weâill see that many tanks with T4 gear in all important slots.
Thatâs because stacking defense / magic defense past 280 is pointless.
Monster damage spikes much higher than your defense / magic defense can catch up. Thereâs monsters that hit 10k+ damage per hit, doesnât really matter what you wear by that stage except DEX/evasion stuff, youâre not gonna bring that damage down. Holding C to block might work but then you canât do anything else and as soon as you release C youâll die. Slithering only lasts 10 secs with 20 sec downtime.
Thatâs why a lot of ppl in kTOS changed their stats to DEX to be able to face tank monsters to a degree.
Not speaking from experience but wouldnât that be good? Do a mini-maxed mix of dex/con and forego the Str. Pop all your timers when you have a druid wall, ausrine, or a mackangdal on you.
Not really because even with that build youâre still taking a lot of damage and draining your cleric heals.
Best way to âtankâ is to cc enemies so they donât do damage to you in the first place. That means cryo/chrono. If you donât have that, put up a barrier scroll. Failing this, get Sageâs invincibility buff or Dievâs Ausrine statue or Clericâs Safety Zone or Priestâs stone skin (around +500 block whole party). Much better options out there than taking the damage face-on.
Well sage buff is only 16 hits against specific types of attacksâŚ
