Tree of Savior Forum

Garbage forums?

Why are these forums being used when there are much better options?

What do you mean by that? What kind of options are you talking about?

They just seem messy and cluttered compared to more simple styles.

This forum software is excellent. People are resistant to change.

Keyboard navigation, inline posting and editing, live updates and notifications while you’re on the page… so much goodness. I wish more groups would start using discourse (this forum software).

The forum design itself is good IMO.

Buuut~
There are a lot of multiple threads with the same exact topic that have been discussed and the forum rules aren’t that tight. Most new users can’t properly use the search function either. That’s what makes this forum a total mess.

It was confusing for me at the first time but now i actually think it’s pretty good.

The duplicate threads are generally different titles/different subsections which I see on existing forums anyway so not much different there.

There’s plenty of fansite forums, imageboards, and steam groups to talk about the game sure.
This one just has that official feeling to it, you know?

to me is really good

I agree with that, at first was a bit confusing for me but now im completely used to it, i just think it lack some editing tools (font color and size), but other than that, its a nice forum software.

Ah yes it uses a markup language that you can get use to pretty quickly. That’s how you change the font size.

For example you can use the # symbol followed by a space and then the heading name to indicate different levels of headings such as below (and the right hand pane shows a preview so you can tell if it’s working).

1x #

Heading 1

2x #

Heading 2

3x #

Heading 3

Not generally a fan of font colours on forums as they are mostly misused and the devs of this software seem to agree on that point. There are plugins though that allow you to specify font colour.

The forum allows html and markup.

It’s very streamlined and intuitive once you do get used to it.

You don’t even have to search for similar threads when making a thread (it shows similar thread titles in real time when creating a thread)

It’s way less cluttered than other forum software once you do start getting used to it.

Ah nice, well for me just font size and bold fonts are enough tho.

I do agree this forum is a bit messy

agree, also lot of people actually ignore the warning, when they open a smiliar thread that already exist …

You sound like a person in walmart trying to sell a new product.

It has keyboard navigation, inline posting/editing, live updates and notifications, all of this being a high-tech achievement that you could otherwise never enjoy.

And then people like me come around and ask, but does it work properly?

To which silence ensues.

To me this forum is completely overloaded with unnecessary garbage-ware functions, similar to many Chinese MMO sites which use a lot of Adobe Flash for banners and animations on top of it.
On the net I want sites to work properly and run fast. That’s the most important part. Luxury features only come as second priority.

But the style of this forum isn’t bad. Doesn’t seem cluttered or anything. The site just doesn’t seem to have much capacity and is rather slow when pushed to it’s limits when compared to other forums. But it depends on how you use it. If one just looks at the New Posts all the time for example, I can see why someone might see it as cluttered.

I love this forum software. It’s a fresh and colorful sight. It flows well, isn’t cluttered whatsoever, and very functional.

Damn this meme is overrated lol.

Anyways, I’ve been into a lot of forums that differ in style and system, and I would like to say that Disclosure is indeed one of the best forum package in terms of usability and generally easier to use than most forums… or maybe I just got so used on using forum package such as PHPBB or vBulletin and pretty much bored from using them, but then again, IMC is really genius on using an all-in-one forum package as this one. It saves money (much cheaper than your usual forum package of course), pleasing to the eye and feels more complete imo.

I rather enjoy this forum, in fact it’s the only one I even bother to use.
