Okay, Of all swordsman classes, Templar threads was always the most quiet one.
So. firstly how do you think about the future of Templar class on GvG. is it viable to use 1 slot to share buff before first clash? or will templar still be the alt char only to manage or getting the guild buff ready?

Also c2 templar got a offensive skills which have decent damage and hits three times, but it requires sword. So what would you guys think of the viable build for the next gen Templar?

Lastly. Do you have any suggestion about this class? Most class got their rebalancing and so on. yet Templar is the only class that never got their share. Not even any attributes for him. Voice your suggestion here!!

2 cents,
Sword3 Cata3 Templar here. not going Templar ranks anymore since 5/6 player summon is enough for GvG. Going Lancer at R8.

If the buffs being shared are the same as what we get from Linker then only Pain Barrier is important that needs to be shared
So Sword3+Durandal sounds really good on the build

i wouldn’t pay extra for it since lancer must use spears.
and i don’t think the buff stays if you swap weapons
waste of time and money imo. 60% procs restrain almost 100% of the time anyway

I mean you are gonna be stuck in a place anywa. So the durandal is a good tank weapon due to 15 CON

I have zero hopes the damage skill and the buff sharing thing will be worthwhile. Will continue to get more ranks in Templar because the structures seem worthwhile, and whatever is waiting on C3 is probably good.

wish a lancer could use it, cataphract can’t use it as well

For me it is the Templar quests with Guild Members. Then gets thrown into dust. Until next patch then rinse and repeat.

Templar2 buff share skill = channel & drains 5% SP per second. I had one vid of templar2 but lost it. Overshadowed by dragoon, doppel, fencer, lancer.

Yeah the share buff theoritically would be used before first clash on GvG where all our buff could be shared just like spiritual link. But we still dont have the info about what buff could and couldn’t be shared. I bet it would be the same as spiritual link with shorter buff time window for all member.
When else could we use this? You could barely regroup on GvG to buff ourself again.

The building looks promising though. Yet I believe it will cost somewhere near 7 digit silver to buy 1 and we need to replenish it routinely.

Looking at those swordsman rank 8 video. It is a shame Templar is still underwhelming in paper.
Maybe murmillo could fills better role on GvG then a Templar C2

I have lost all hopes in it. Wanted to main my Templar (made it more on the offensive side, didn’t like tanking) but it was so disappointing, now even more with the power creep on R8. Templar is just really shaking up to be a desk leader. One who manages/strategizes, not as one who leads and fights.

Though I’d still level my Templar, but really nothing more but for managing my guild. Still wishing they should’ve made it as a hidden class, so that it would remain as 1 rank and we are free to choose other better options.

i havent join any gvg coz i personally boycott it

at this point, im just gonna go templar2 for lv10 Battle Order…
im saving skill point for whatever templar3 going to offer

IMHO, the new templar2 skill StunBlade should remove weapon restrictions…
its just another DoubleSlash-copy skill (skill name StunBlade that doesnt have stun debuff, lol)

Why would you “boycott” gvg? Since the map change it’s been the most fun gamemode in tos.

What do you even stand to game from this protest?

Yeah me too. Going for a fencer templar because the differences of damage between fencer c1 and c2 is not that huge. Yet after rank 8. The offensive skills restriction and no debuff just kills my build. damage is so so compared to other rank 8, yet the animation almost like moulinet which require you to stay a few seconds. Will just stay templar only for those building though.

Yeah GvG is fun but dont forget it is also the single digit fps game. Wish the next PvP the developer mentioned could let Templar shine better

we’re actually the same. made a sw-high3-pelt-fencer-templar. only skill we were lacking is composee but the damage is okay. but yeah when R8 was announce, lost all hope in it. lol
now it is forever stuck at 247.

well, since you asked, and i mentioned its personal…

fps, class imbalances, unfair gvg mode/mechanic/system, exploit/bug etc…

but if its fun for you, good.

you wont see guild haukinyau joining GVG in varena anytime soon.

Haha. Same build with mine except taking Corsair instead of HL3 in my build. Am already rerolling my main to be fencer c3 because of r8 release.
Dont stop your templar yet. At least for your guild, grind it until class lv 15 before you stuck yourself lol.

well my guild is casual, mostly for socializing purposes, that’s why it stayed like that. lol. but I’ll level it again once R8 comes out. he’s really gonna do nothing but desk job. unless they remake the class, I can’t see myself main a Templar (really wanted to).

During this vid they party with a squire3 templar (2?). I cannot recognize any templar skills used, just pelta taunt…

I am not sure but looks like pelt rodel squire templar? That 1 hit skills looks like barb cleave though. Cannot see those skills clearly on my phone. Especially when those visual effect is on.
He also use arrest to lock the mob.
