Full Dark DPS Wizard Build: Wiz 3 > Linker > Sorc 2 > Warlock explained in details

This looks painful to level as we would not get any skill until wiz c3?
AA until wiz c3? Is this how its supposed to be played.

If you think AA until Wiz 3 and stomp afterward is suffering,

You should try swordsman which stomp until 200 and quit the game because you suffered later on.

Pyro 2 won’t do you much better than Wiz 3 on that build, is some large SP consumption for little damage. While Surespell is almost a MUST have for Featherfoot and Quickcast improves his damage greatly.

Sorc doesn’t really make you spend a lot of SP but cuts regen and Featherfoot has HUGE SP consumption so you should consider the costs on SP potions when taking that path.

Pyro 2 would give you a very easy early game but would not be good once you reach rank 7 overall.

Cafrisun Set and Pardoner buffs.

I went Wiz 2 > Linker > Wiz 3 without both Cafrisun and Pardoner buffs as there were none on the first days of the server and I think people complain too much about something that is not really difficult.

Opinion about getting FF at rank 7 instead of warlock ?. Many spells from from Wiz3 and FF seem to synergize quite nicely.

Any thoughts on decreasing reflect shield to 5 and put it on energy bolt and 1 to maxsleep to 15?
Also, decreasing pole of agony to 4 to get 1 point to evil sacrifice? Thanks alot!

Max Sleep is sort of whatever, I don’t feel like using energy bolt so I took Reflect Shield because damage recution is always good for PvP and GvG, not very useful as it’s too little for PvE.

You can go with Energy Bolt for an easier grind but even Cafrisun + Pardoner Buffs will do you better with Linker.

u might not wanna consider sorc as ur first class.
since the only best summon is temple shooter.
get a dmg class that can let u earn some decent cash or farm bosses before considering to play a sorc.

but if u do consider to go on with the determination.
then i would say,
endure the suffering and try not to add points for energy bolt. it is a useless skill
the dmg isnt worth the points.
unless u are intending to do a skill reset then go ahead.
if not just endure the paint and get buffs from pardoner to Auto atk ur way up to wiz 3 for magic missile.
once u get magic missle,u practically dont use anything else lol.
it’s that good to use.

i thought so as well for fire sorc builds. but then i saw a youtube of a pyro sorc soloing lv 200 dungeon.

that said, i’m not a fan of fire build, as i’ve witnessed in cbt people knocking away my fireballs… which could be a very big problem for world boss farming.

i just reached lv 226 so still testing your build ^-^;

For mage build, You can solo lv 200 dungeon as long as you have a Warlock.

I’m considering a similar build (wiz3-link1-warlock) but with Necro1 at rank 6 - mainly for Flesh Cannon (16hits, 20s CD circle target AOE) and Shoggoth as an added bonus tank:

Wiz3 - Link1 - (?) > Necro1 > Warlock

Do you think that Sorc1 will still be worth getting? Or am I better off going with Elem1 at rank 4?

what you think about this build? is it good for late game? my focus is to use flesh cannon + quick cast + link and use the summons till the cd come back. can it do the same damage as sorcerer 2 > warlock or even close…?

I’ll leave my opinions on the discussions aside and only focus my comments on the build.
I’ll like to see how much damage the lvl 10 bats with the dark property damage bonus can cause. Can you offer me with numbers or maybe even videos with that?

Also, a friendly tip to look up. Linker is awesome, but joint penalty lvl 5 breaks easily. When I say breaks, I don’t mean by missing it, or mobs running and breaking the line, I mean the hit count. I started to feel it after rank 7 and around mobs with 100k hp. I got a feel that the line breaks after 50-70 hits counts. If the bats goes in line, that means that 5 linked mobs taking 1 bat each will eat up 50 hits. That + the templeshooter attacks, may ended up breaking the line, so the mobs must be really low hp at this point.

It may be my impression, because I was a pyro 2 FF (that means a lot of multihits), but I noticed the joint penalty broke before all Blood Bath ticks + Flame Ground ended.

Not criticizing the Linker 1 choice, its actually the smart choice to fill in a build like this. Just a thing that must be in mind.

Explanation on links duration:

  • 10 hits per level, that means 50 hits at level 5 or 60 hits at level 6.

  • Each singletarget hit is only counted once, the bats will be multiplied to all targets but are only 1 hit each, only if they cause the 5% splash damage chance will they be able to cause further hits.

  • The biggest problem would be Temple Shooter hitting a lot of linked monsters and not only one to be shared, that causes more hits to be deduced from maximum count.

  • That means AoEs are a bad things for Links, 1 Frost Cloud can easily end 1 level 15 Link when it comes to number of hits, even though none of the damage will be amplified.

  • Consider Linker as a 500% damage buff with 50 hits of duration every 22 seconds instead of something you cast before you even begin your fight. If you can’t enjoy it you can take Linker 2 as a possible rank8 class but I really don’t see the need considering this is not ET meta build.

  • I was making equipments and buying token so I only have around 25~30 att on each familiar and magic missile and none on Theurge. Doing around 3k+ on Theurge hits, 2.9k+ on familiars and 2.5k+ on magic missiles.

  • 50x any of that is enough to, if not kill all linked mobs, at least leave them almost done for. The problem is people use links poorly, use low damage skills, or let AoEs keep hitting all mobs, which only wastes link since damage is not amplified.

2,9k hit per bat is a very decent damage.

But are you sure about these link mechanics? Maybe DoTs work different then because 5 linked mobs seems to break after all ticks from Blood Bath lands or just when is about to end. (I do use Ignition too, so that may add up more DoTs).
Lvl 10 Multishots seems to break the link right after too.

Linker 1 didn’t holded for me, by experience, and thats because I started again, as Linker 2.

Also, even if AoE skills eats up hit count on links, hangman knot attribute to reduce AoE defense combos well with some of them (Barrage as an example). Of course, this is not applied in your suggested build. Just an example.

Yes, Ignition might be pretty bad for this build since it adds a lot of ticks with low damage, also some people say Ignition is somehow bugged with linker to it may have much more counts than 10 if it counts once for each linked mob.

I haven’t really tested but using mostly Familiar and Theurge as source of damage on linked mobs it have not been breaking after only 10 hits (which would be 50 on all 5 mobs).

Maybe those multishots were hitting more than one enemy and you have to take into consideration that Poisons, Burns and Bleeds might affect Links is a very weird way.

Yes, even Magic Missile has much better damage when used with Hangman Knot, if the patch where Frost Cloud has AoE ratio and doens’t simply hit all mobs it can be used as a way to hit MUCH more mobs, but still only lasts a few seconds.

I have seem people saying the Ignition is bugged with linker, but it actually works pretty good, with me at least. When a burn is applied to a linked mob, it takes that mediocre damage of the burn (around 250~400), but the linked mobs will take a DoT that seems around 100% my magic attack,(1000~1200 for me). But yeah, if they eat up hits, its bad for the link in general when you want to use damaging skills.

But thank you. I didn’t knew that the bats had so much damage potencial.
My worries with Sorc was the lack of burst brute damage when needed, being all spread in summons attacks. But at 3k~ per hit bat + link and at 35s cooldown, this combo is very good. Even better considering that Sorc3 can reach 15 bats (and skill level raises their damage as well I suppose?).

Yes, it does more damage but eats hits, so I’d only recommend it for Linker 2+ where this is not really a problem.

Bats level 10 have 747 base damage, that’s more than Frost Cloud’s base damage I believe, +10% from Warlock’s dark attribute (which I only have at 4 atm) +50% from quickcast. Great damage scaling, my gear is pretty bad, Was using Corona Rod and now Maledoom, no enhancements, got 1 Wizard Brac, Petamion and Zach Bangle, average plate set with cloth gloves.

Also I have 149 CON 363 INT at level 230 with those gears, which gives my temple shooter a total of 3033 base atq and having 19k+ HP myself.

Feels like people still underestimate this build a little to me, Just look deeper into Temple Shooter’s INT > atq scaling, the sizo of the AoE of his attack and how often you can use your S-button skill with 2 10-stars card.

I’ll try to make some videos but right now I’m sort of busy so I didn’t even do quests from 215+.
