From 2500 users to 7200 in one day

I’m not saying the keys need to be given to the first 5k users, but it really sucks that it isn’t a sign up or IP blocked so everyone got the same chances, being new or old on the web.

Well if it was rly only 2500 then I think it’s quite reasonable to let those in… and I’m not saying it because I would be in that 2500 XD… I just think that 2500 ppl are more reliable maybe… but then they could still choose 2500 from the new ones too so I dunno I think it sounds fair. But anyway I won’t cry if I won’t play for that ONE week I more want the game to be released so whatever.

It’s the same with any game in CBT state, everyone just wants to play it ASAP. And once they know they don’t get a 100% chance to get a key, they start searching for a justification why they deserve one and the others don’t. It’s not really a sign of a bad community, it’s just how humans are.

Besides, the community on the forums is usually very different from the one in game. That was the case for, say, FFXIV, where the forums were basically a boiling pot of trolls while the in game community was friendly and helpful, mostly. Can’t say much about how it is now after 2.0 has hit, but you get the idea.

Personally, I’ve never gotten into a CBT on the first wave before, so I’m rather calm about it.

tl;dr: ignore people screaming for keys just like IMCGames apparently does.

If anything we should be happy there are so many people willing to play just the beta, it will show our interest in the game to make it a more appealing market. The more the better !

I don’t think it matters if among them are fakes, the percentage of people who will contribute as testers likely doesn’t change very much and it will often be sufficient.

A realistic test only needed about 50-200 people, at 5000… you don’t really expect to read 5000 reports for every possible issue. Instead you expect 4500+ to not actually participate as ‘testers’ more so than as players.

Regardless of how ‘unfair’ some might view it, for the purpose of testing… we have all that we need.

Yes, IMC won’t need 5k testers but the main point of this test is:

i dont see why there would be any reason to not choose from the people that made new accounts in the last few days - and seeing as i am one of them i can easily explain why. Say (like myself) you heard about this game being in development a while ago but after checking in every so often saw no news- especially recently after the last latest CBT (which as you remember was in august… some months ago). So… you check in every day, on both the main site and the fan base to read about the updates some kind people have translated for non-korean apt readers, and there was no reason to post before because you missed your chance to participate in the first beta, and there is a limited amount of information to learn from all the forums combined - so like most MMO veterans… you lurk - like a boss, waiting for a reason to actually put for ANY kind of response XD.

it is normal for betas that people make alot of accounts to get more keys to sell or give to friends its annoying but not alot to do about it unless they say that those who joined before the annoucement is the only ones that can join
