Don’t underestimate people. Especially gamers with disposable income. Not saying that I would buy one since it is indeed silly, but if there happened to be any kind of benefit received at the launch of the game for having beta tested you’d definitely see some key sales even if the test was two days long.

I sadly have to agree with @inimicae there are some people who have no problem to pay 100$ as its for them like 50cent.

Well, I held off on making an account for the longest time because I didn’t want to link it to anything social media related. I’ve been following this for a good while now. Like many others, I caved and made an account ASAP to get a chance at closed beta. Good luck to everyone else hoping to get a key.
Same here I’ve been watching this for quite some time. Hopefully I can get a key and make my MMO buddies jelly. I’m just excited that beta is here!!
People may be taking it too seriously, but what if you’re not taking it seriously enough? What if the fake accounts end up with many of the keys and the ones who truly want to test get cheated out of a key? They could have picked a better way to get the keys instead of just having an account and logging in.
Of course, if the many new accounts are just people that want to play and not fake accounts then its fine

Pretty sure a stress test would allow for more then 5000 players, 5k Is not alot. One would assume that this test is for bug finding translation errors such like that.

We already over 10k… This sucks. I’m this close to flip out and made tons of fake accounts. I do want to play the game and i don’t want to lose to a bunch of bots.
I do kind of selfishly hope that the beta keys are given to those with “member” status first, and then the 1000 (roughly) left are distributed depending on how many posts/likes and topics have been created by “new users” after that.
i think that we are more then 70 k persons to apply for the beta test
It’s amazing how people think that just because they were here in the forums first, they get priority. It does not make you any better than any player who came late. If your intention is to ‘play’ the game rather than ‘test’ it, then you shouldn’t think that you deserve the key more than everyone else. I have been following this game for a long time, but did not register. Does this make me less deserving of a key then? The community is getting unhealthy and I fear it getting worse once the game really starts…
