Lets pump the brakes people, omfg stat reset potion WOOOOO all is right in the world, lets fall to our knees and resume the white knighting…um no, its been about a month now since IMC was supposedly going to handle the 100s of cube dupers and anvil cheaters, and NO-ONE has been dealt with, everyone on Klaipeda knows who is guilty and IMC cant figure it out.
I don’t think it’s an issue of not being able to figure it out who is doing it but how to stop it. I think that they don’t know how to stop the exploit, nor do they know how to fix the party cutscene bug. I won’t be surprised if people are still using the same exploits a year from now and still can’t do party quests due to that bug.
Honestly, the game is more disappointing to me at this point than anything and I really don’t know how to not get on the IMC ‘cash grab’ bandwagon. I think they do try to fix some bugs and provide content sometimes, but they clearly don’t have the manpower to support the game and I’m not sure if they seriously want to. What is obvious though, is them releasing plenty of TP shop content and even addressing it in their QA instead of things like the party cutscene bug. Also, one of the most blatant examples of this is the penguin bundle. Lots of people bought the penguin when it first came out. People complained about the price of sardines, so how do they address it? Let’s release a penguin bundle with 50 sardines for the same price as the penguin egg. Of course the people who actually bought the penguin egg don’t get 150 TP worth of free sardines, but the people who waited do. Because they want more sales, and any way they can squeeze a few more dollars out of the game they’ll try.
I’m still playing bc I love the art and the class system and the people in my guild, but if the game is still around in a year, all I’m expecting is to have the same bugs and exploits around, a few more maps and quests, Rank 9 and loads of options on the TP shop.
…
Y’all need to just take a break from the game when you’re getting this irritable over them giving out a stat potion. It’s not a misdirection tactic, this is something that was ported over from the events in kToS which has had them given out at least once as well. They said they wouldn’t be exclusive to begin with but would be handed out during special events on occasion.
Damn conspiracy theorists.

No, it doesn’t. I demand 1,000 TP too.

sorry rabbit I’m familiar with your posts, I know you try to stay positive but both these events were exactly distraction tactics, right at the peak of everyones outcries to stop the world boss cube duping and infinite weapon upgrades they started spitting these out as fast as possible, and they specifically said they were aware of the exploits and to remain patient, that action was otw, that was a month ago, and the exploits nearly 4 months old, the mass public only found about it 1-2 months ago, like kirito, once they discovered it 1.5m back they duped canceril cubes nonstop
You seriously think that one guild’s drama = free stat reset to everyone who logs in and does a quest across all servers?
I’m not talking about the issue with the guilds on our server atm, since there are a lot and I can only comment on my personal interactions and observations with them.
We knew that we would likely be getting the skill/stat reset with major updates as they have done this with the Korean version in the past. >____> Call me a cranky grandma, but I think we didn’t necessarily NEED them right now but I’m not the one who calls the shots.
I guess it just boils down to I think people are building these players into a much larger issue than they are.
I do however agree that IMC needs to pay a bit attention to the complaints/concerns of the users here and could speak up more often about this other than their stock answers. I get that there’s a lot being done with updates/content/server merge for the korean version/ect but seriously… we need more communication that’s not from the staff handbook.
But no, those of us who keep track of the changes in the other version were expecting the stats/skill potions.
I won’t bug y’all anymore, the thread just caught my eye and as usual I had to put my contradicting two cents in.

Despite how it was phrased by OP, I don’t believe the issue he was addressing was the fact that stat reset potions were given out (there’s a whole other thread for people to whine about that lol), while I also agree it seems a little too tin-foil hat to say it was a distraction tactic, it is frustrating to see the same bugs and more importantly, massive exploits, go unresolved and players who were and continue to exploit the game remain unbanned. It also sends the message to the player base that you should start exploiting too if you would like to be on an even playing field with these players since obviously no one is getting banned for it.
As if I’m the only person on the forums who does that. And when I’m being serious, I don’t. I don’t think you actually understand what satire means.
Just because some users feel the need to spread vitrol/drama/complaints everywhere and feel entitled to be able to, not that the OP is doing that, doesn’t mean I can’t post wherever I want. Players who aren’t sitting here and doing the “in” thing of complaining about everytime an IMC staff member takes a smoke break and isn’t furiously working on updating everything–even the art staff b/c they totally can fix coding too! If a user isn’t constantly complaining about everything they’re considered a white knight of some sort just because they’re not as dissatisfied with the game.
Guess what? The game has bugs but for some of us? It’s not that big of a deal. There’s nothing game breaking in my game experience. Annoying? YES. Broken? Sometimes, might have to dig around for a fix.
But anyone who seriously thinks that IMC is doing events as a distraction is giving way too much credit to the few individuals who are causing the issues. Those problems of duping/exploiting/crashing/ect need and should be a priority. I never said they shouldn’t.
Assuming that a company’s major gameplay choices are influenced by a tiny group among all the players? That’s just silly.
You don’t have to agree with me. That’s fine.
And as far as feminism goes, yes I am a feminist but I don’t think women are superior to men. Nor do I consider men base creatures who can’t think about anything other than T&A. That has nothing to do with this though.
Oh, but just for you:

The whole free stat thing should balance out things a bit.
However, 5% love 5% hate 90% neutral is different from what we have with neutrals being a small minority. You either hate or love IMC. Both camps are large.
This is one attempt to make neutrals into lovers, cause haters gonna hate anyway.
It is majorly tin-foil-hat the way this was stated.
I agree it’s frustrating. It totally is.
I just think people should go about it in a better manner than OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG.
shrug
Which is what we see a lot of on these forums.
The well worded/well thought arguments & suggestions get drowned out by stuff like this. I know this is another way of showing you aren’t satisfied but this, THIS is the kind of stuff that drives players away IMO. So yeah, I’m going to step in and offer a counterpoint.
I agree with you there, in an ideal world, everyone would write out how they felt in a less exaggerated manner. They have addressed the issue at least on the forums and indicated they were working on a solution, I just hope that one comes through. My biggest fear is they just don’t have any credible way to even track the players who exploited nor do they have a solution from preventing it from happening. This kind of goes back to the whole TP refund for tokens. I think, if they actually had the power or time to look through logs to see who purchased TP tokens, they could refund those players who purchased them the TP (which would have made sense as the point of the TP compensation was to make up for people who overspent on tokens) but rather than going through all that hassle, it was much easier to program something say ‘if a player has a token in inventory, provide X amount of TP’ and be done with it, so they took the easy way out.
I’m just hoping they’re not taking the easy way out here and seriously working on a solution.
I do to, for all of my err… emphatic responses to different posts on here, I’m not content with the state of the game either when it comes to how IMC interacts with us and the speed at which they address things.
The time when the game was closed down to new account was supposed to be to address some of this… and the bandaid optimization patch worked in a very limited capacity and only for a few patches. It seems to have been completely overwritten with that large battle update thing.
I AM glad to see events and updates, that’s progress. We still need fixes for the actual problems at hand.
When it comes to the exploiters I’d like to see the specific players banned, the items removed, ect. If it’s an actual guild that had a majority doing things, they need to ban the exploiters and force a guild disband. I’ve seen that done in a few other games to discourage such behavior and while I think it’s a bit harsh to force the guild to separate --especially where it takes a rank 7 class, that kind of heavy penalty may actually discourage some people. I’m not sure.
I think it boils down to manpower when they’re trying to keep updates and content rolling out for Nexon’s version and then trying to translate/update that for us, the korean servers merging a few weeks ago had to take a lot of time just like in any other game, plus working on the few updates.
I figure it’s all going to come out in a large bug-fix patch, instead of small updates… which I’d rather have the fixes rolling out weekly if possible myself, but maybe they just seriously haven’t found a fix yet.
Or they’re trying to test it further given how things have been going every time they fix something now and it causes like 3-4 other errors.
I think anyone who thinks that way is giving IMC too much credit; I don’t think IMC even considers the forums enough to bother doing something like that. :S Takes too much thought!
Sometimes I feel like the game itself is an island, far away from the players. But it’s also far away from the creators, however, they’re on the opposite side of the island, even further away from the players. So the players see the island from one side and have issues and want the creators to change things and fix things, but the creators just keep on chugging along like nothing is wrong because they don’t even see the players at all; they just kind of vaguely hear us sometimes.
You have a very good point there, and I think that gap between IMC, us the players (of all camps and opinions), and the idea of what the game should be/is --that big gap, is the biggest problem.
It does often feel like the real concerns go without notice, because even threads like this (as much as I complain about how this isn’t the way to present it/it’s offbase) still echo that feeling of our concerns not being heard.
We really need active communication between the players, and the staff/gm/devs.
I honestly do believe progress is being made, but there needs to be more transparency. That is something that I think helps take a game from the situation we’re in, to a much more positive and imo higher tier game. I’m not suggesting that every single complaint and post get a twenty page response from the team or anything, but still…
Something like an active Q/A on the forums, or in game. The GMs popping in just to talk with the players a little bit. A thread to submit questions for the weekly Q&A would be awesome.
Just… even just that would probably make a big difference in how the community feels.
Though I think the forums represent a small portion of the playerbase, we are the vocal and somewhat passionate members of the community. If people don’t speak up nothing gets fixed.
Sigh. It’s very frustrating.
I completely agree. I’m pretty sure that if you look at the most successful online games, their success comes alongside a great deal of player-communication and -integration; the people working on the game are players themselves in the best scenarios. They’re people who actively benefit from the game improving because they too play and enjoy the game. I’m doubtful that’s the case with IMC, or if anything, that it’s the case with iToS.
Yeah… I sometimes wonder if the some of the staff have played or actively tested stuff when they give responses about it. (Hi Ticket Support, I’m talking about you! <3). And I’m not sure who they have on the support tickets, or if it’s a “system” response looking just at keywords to refer people to the FAQ or something… but they need to monitor wth is going on with them.
We apologized for any inconvenience.
That sounds totally passive aggressive. This was a response to my ticket about my trump costume issue, and I took it as pretty rude. I know it’s probably not meant that way. Wording is SO important when interacting with customers. They used the same past-tense response again later in the message.
It’d be better to say something like:
Thank you for submitting you report, and we do apologize for the inconvenience. We are aware of this bug, and are currently working on fixing this issue. Currently, we expect to include the bug fix in XXX weeks, with our next major bug fix. We appreciate your patience and again apologize for the inconvenience.
We are also offering a partial refund of the cost of the costume to users who purchased it before the date of the announcement of this as a known issue.
Thank you for continued support;
Tree of Savior Support Team
That is what I would call good customer relations.
Dang grrrrl, they need to hire us on as communication coordinators and social outreach managers, amirite?
Haha, I wouldn’t mind. I’d even volunteer some time for TP each week
I’m not picky.
