Free skill reset for every player option!

they don’t need to patch in stat resets. they already exist.

i simply said they aren’t available.

and it’s been hemorrhaging players by the thousands since day 1. that’s just the way that f2p games work.
week 1: 35k+
week 2: 30k~
1 month: 16k~
just before f2p: 10~12k

currently: ~22k
(also it’s been around 22k for a few days, so i wonder just how accurate your “bleeding out” comments actually are…)

It’s very standard to pay for skill resets in any mmo. I mean let’s just make everything free too, huh?

Besides if you’re that broken up about it. Save silver and buy yourself a token and spend that 99TP you’ll get from it on a skill reset. There is your “free”.

so far there is only one game that has given out tons of skill reset for free and that is Dragon Nest Sea. i think aura kingdom too? but i can be wrong about that.

So sick and tired of hearing people defend this retarded game. I get your point, some people like to discover the game on their own, play casually, and screw up 10-20 character builds without a care. But you need to understand there are also people who don’t have the time to re-roll so many characters to maximize their efficiency and they would like to enjoy their characters the way they want.

I haven’t played many mmorpgs nowadays, so I never heard of any mmorpgs hiding skill features that aren’t listed in the description for you the discover. I don’t mind this problem if you can reset your character and experiment everything. But I don’t have the time here to roll 10-20 different characters to test everything out to find the optimal build.

People also blabbed about go do research or blah blah blah. Sure you can, but you will be spending countless hours looking. Which goes back to my previous point - it is time consuming. Furthermore, there aren’t many hardcore theorycrafters in this game that goes through all the testing to find the best build so you can never be fully informed. Which goes back to my initial point - it is time consuming. For example, WoW had respecializations so you can test out all of the talent builds at a cost of gold. WoW didn’t have this feature till later expansions, but this does not mean that this game has to wait 1-2 years before they implement something like this. I wouldn’t mind paying $20-30 to reset character circles, but to spend hundreds of hours? no thank you.

And this is why I think this game will just die off. The white knights will be the only remaining people playing this game. If this game wants to be successful, they have to cater to the whole crowd, and not this specific group of people who does not work, and have the time to reroll 10-20 characters. If you guys want this game to populate and be successful, quit giving IMC excuses to not do anything about the skill reset.

at the same time, i’m assuming they did it for some reason, like major class revisions?

You CAN skill reset. It costs 88TP. You just can’t class or stat reset.

Stat resets are sometimes something you can get from events from the ktos version. I figure something similar will happen for us too sometime.

If you read my post, you would have been hinted at a circle reset. Sorry I wasn’t completely clear. The current skill reset potion is pretty useless. There are very little skill variants and if I want to experiment, I want to play with all the sub-classes.

Circle resets are a must but i don’t think it should be available in cash shop. It should only be handed out during major changes and be character bound so issues won’t arrise and we can all be happy. Both casual and hardcore rerollers. Issues such as not seeing any linker and chronomancers until max level/rank since every1 will just take the easy path to max out their character such as with a high dps build then reset at that point. Well its more of a semtimental value but it will kill diversity at early to mid level. This idea is really hard to make compromise. People have suggested it to decrease level but that makes it worthless. My idea is to make it only obtainable through major balance patches. Which also isn’t an idea that’ll please everyone. Your idea of it being charged for 30 dollars seems like a fair price IMO.

that’s nifty.
so why are you playing a game that is specifically designed to cater to the type that wants to sink a whole lot of time into their characters?

"WoW did it differently"
this isn’t WoW, and in fact the core design philosophies of the two games are extremely different. WoW is actually a very casual game for most people, with easy leveling, easy resetting, etc.

"But research takes so long!"
yea, but how long does it take to level a built to 150 to find out it’s wrecked and needs to be completely redone?

"there aren’t many hardcore theorycrafters in this game"
lol ok. you obviously haven’t been looking too hard. and besides, it only just launched to the public 2 weeks ago.

everyone that says this -actually- seems to mean "they need to cater to the playstyle that i want."
well ToS doesn’t. it has always been made with a long-term-playing-investment in mind, the same as RO and many other of the big early MMO’s. what’s the point of making the game cater to people who “don’t have time” to invest when it’s only 280 levels… if they plan to increase that to 600+ levels in the future?

this game is not the playstyle you want, and it is never going to be the playstyle you want. you will not progress with “a few hours here and there”.
if you can’t handle that, then admit it to yourself and either accept that, or find another game that -will- give you fast, easy, -safe- levelling.

as for the skill reset, there’s nothing to do. it’s right there, go and buy one if you want it.

Back in my day we couldn’t choose the same class circle once you chose another. We should go back to those days because I said so and always right. They should also just remove every way to reset from the game because it’s cheating. :fearful:

So far this topic have:

  • Free stuff demands.
  • People, calling themselves customers to look more important.
  • People who cannot read first and fail their build.
  • “This game won’t survive without a feature I want”.
  • “Anyone who have a different opinion is a white knight”.
  • Experienced MMO players.
  • WOW comparisons.

Everything I like. I officially approve it.

yep when the Dragon Nest R came out. every single character in game got skill reset. they also give it to you as soon as level 15. and pretty much everytime the level cap increases. even though they give it free. i still see people selling them in game market.

well yea, i’d probably sell mine too.
i actually read ahead and plan builds before investing days on leveling the character.

lmao… here’s what i get:

None of your arguments have any merit. ToS will die off because of people with your mindset. Enjoy playing with your 1000 population servers. I could go on with arguing with you, but I find it pointless because you completely missed my points in the first post. You need to look at the big picture. The majority of the players won’t want to reroll when IMC nerf/buff certain skills and completely ruins their build. KToS been out for awhile, so it isn’t just two weeks. There is scattered knowledge, but you have no idea what is reputable so people still can not make an informed decision on their builds. That is why a circle reset is a must.

The player base in NA is different, you can’t move a Korean game to a different region without adapting to their needs. When they don’t it is bound to fail. Much like all those other MMORPGs that come and go.

i do?

Ragnarok Online’s original lead developer was Hakkyu Kim. he made a slow grindy game based on korean ideals. it was imported to NA, and is still running, 13 years later. he left RO, and formed IMC. they’ve made other games, like Granado Espada, which is a f2p game, and is still running after a decade. and now he’s released ToS. admittedly it’s had a bumpy start, and everyone predicts it’s going to die very quickly because of all the problems.

you know another game that had a really bumpy start, and everyone predicted was going to die because of all the server problems?

World of Warcraft. maybe you’ve heard of it.

i’m not suggesting that ToS is going to become the next industry-defining game like WoW did… but at the same time, hearing the handful of you crying “the game is going to die” simply because it doesn’t cater precisely to -your- particular wish-list is simply laughable.

you can ignore and dismiss the points i make, even if your only reason is because i don’t agree with you, but that doesn’t actually make you right.

just because IMC -might- change things in the future doesn’t entitle us to anything now.

but hey… what if a meteorite falls to earth and blasts a crater where the ToS servers were standing and everyone’s characters are literally wiped of the face of the planet? that -might- happen too! gee, we better start asking for in-case-of-space-debris pre-compensation, right?

Aura Kingdom has a reset free, skills and points. Only a few silvers, not a biggy.

Here we can have too.

WoW has really cheap skill resets too.

…but this isn’t WoW or AK.

Why did you cut what I said, it doesn’t make any sense x’D.

Magic Missile for exemple, I just learned this skill on my Wizard C3 : The first charge cast 3 missiles, the second charge cast 2 missiles sometimes…

Skill info : Attack continuously with magic bullets. New bullets are shot if it successfully targets an ennemy.
Bullet count 5.

If 3 mobs are targeted by Magic Missile 3 new targets will be affected by the spell and they will spread the bullet again. So tell me where are the 5 bullet count ? Maybe on the first charge and the second charge, but it is not mentioned like that and it is not all the time 3/2. And the continuously only works if you have new targets.

Now Carve Attack, what is the AoE attack ratio ? 1/2/3/4/5 ? My Diev is able to hit 3 enemies with a blunt type weapon but only 2 with Carve Attack, where is it mentioned ?

Heal from Cleric, they don’t say it cast tiles depending on the level of the skill. It says one tile.

I could go on.
