Free skill reset for every player option!

i also played a lot of games and on almost any game that had a system like tree of savior there was atleas one free skill reset potion somewhere on the main quest line or on a sidequest at a certain level … annoying that this game lacks so many information on skills, skilltrees and their further progression.

i never said you -had- to. i said you had options, and chose not to use them.

everybody keeps parroting this complaint, as if they’re the only one that’s every played multiple MMO’s and the rest of us have no way to check.
we’ve almost all played lots of MMO’s, and most games don’t include free skill resets, and most games don’t include any more info than what ToS does. it’s -expected- that if you want the detailed info, that you need to visit other websites for that info.

so basic information like does skill a scale with str, int, dex or spr is too much asked on a game where decisions about skills and stats is final?

that just sounds like a cashgrab to make people buy stat/skill reset pots because they did something wrong they could not have know better (unless of course other people made that mistake, posted it somewhere and it got into a wiki or anything).

you see where this is going?

I misplaced one point on a skill, so I was about to buy a Skill Reset Potion, but when I saw that it’s premium only, it was a huge let down.

So you have to buy a Token and a Skill Reset to be able to use it.

Oh well, it was just one point, and the skill is not that important anyway.

physical skill? Str.
magical attack? Int.
Magical Defense? Spr.

besides, if a Pure-CON build can be viable, this clearly is not game-breaking.

meanwhile, i haven’t seen any scaling info in any other games, so why would you expect it in ToS ?
like i said, if you want detailed looks into the mechanics, expect to go to 3rd party sites.

Clerics Heal:
Attack: (35 + INT)
Attribute Damage: 0%
Recovers HP equal to 5% of the maximum HP
Additional HP Recovery Rate: ((50 + (35 + INT)) × 1.5) × 1.1 ~ ((50 + (35 + INT)) × 1.5) × 1.3
Magic Circle Duration: 40 seconds

That’s from tosbase and stuff like that is stuff that i expect to be available IN THE GAME.
maybe not the whole calculation formula but atleast a hit that int increases it’s attack AND heal.

why would you expect that? like i said, it isn’t in any other game.

huh? so even if you buy a skill reset for 88 TP you can’t use it?

Well, I didn’t try it, but it’s on the Premium tab, so I just concluded that you need to be a token user to be able to use the skill reset potion.

I think a untradable skill and stat resets should be given out to every character once from a quest. I don’t think a player should reroll when he or she messed up on a build. Everytime a new rank/class comes out or a game mechanic change such as to skill and stat, alot of players will have to be forced to reroll if they find their chararacters no longer efficient in party or solo pvp ect… In fact i think they should give them out for free to every character for every new rank and major skill stat changes. Don’t tell me that playing rpgs is about making mistakes cause it’s not. Its about having fun. If you find mistakes fun play it your way. Don’t ruins the fun for others. BTW im for class resets. A class reset doesn’t make the game pay to win. It’s pay so you don’t have to reroll due to some dumb error. You have the option of buying it or not. If you don’t like leave it. Simple as that.

@wolfdoggie

no this is wrong.

the “premium” category is kind of like a “miscellaneous”.
if you have the item in your inventory, you can use it.

@EinZweiDrei learn to enjoy rerolling. you’re going to be doing it.

1 free skill/class/stat reset per character is actually a great idea. It would somewhat make up for the horrible ability descriptions and random nerfs that potentially waste hundreds of hours.

Actually i change my mind about skill resets being handed out every major changes to class stats. Full class resets should be handed out instead. Full class resets shouldn’t obtainable in anyway except during those times and should be untradable, cannot be sold in market and untransferable to other characters.

getting a free…
skill reset: maybe, but don’t hold your breath.
stat reset: bloody unlikely, when they don’t even sell in the TP shop.
Class reset: As if lol. these don’t even exist and are unlikely to ever exist.

We had stat resets in the older beta.

You’d be surprised what might suddenly exist when IMC is declaring bankruptcy.

It is “normal” by definition.

I think what you’re trying to convey is that it is shady business practice regardless of how many games do it this way.

well sure, but what they do -later- is later.

but for now, stat reset potions have been declared to be only available in the founders pack 1 (either version)… and class reset items have shown no indication of appearing at all.

What are you even talking about lol? The game is already hemorrhaging players by the thousands after this DLC debacle. They could patch in stat resets this tuesday for all you know.

I think it would be fair to give out one skill reset per character, in the form of some kind of mid- to late-game quest or hidden event. It definitely shouldn’t be an easy hand out, but having one shot at fixing your character would make it much easier to try out new builds and combinations without worrying about having to hand out money if you screw up.

In another game I play, you get a one-time skill reset upon hitting the level cap. I think something like that would work best. It encourages people to keep playing the game and it isn’t something “too easy”, it’s a reward for playing all the way to the end of the current game. It also means players will still buy cash shop resets if they screw up early on and don’t want to suffer through a poor build choice all the way to the end or reroll the character.
