Free skill reset for every player option!

I’m fascinated how many classes and builds can this game have! But one little problem… Why no skill reset? I just discovered this game so I know nothing about it: how should I build my character or what class should I go. Every game I played, at least, give you the chance to reset once for free. I don’t want to reset the classes, just the points. I put points in some skills that are useless so I want to change them. But I can’t! Funny, you need to start a new character just for that! o.O

The Skiill Reset Potion can be purchased from the TP Shop.

You havent played many games I guess. None of mine the reset was free, here neither. Bought it from TP Shop and be happy.

LOL, derp. /20charlimit

The sadest thing is people think it is normal to pay for a reset skill when a game is lacking of informations about skills. :/.

It’s actually called white-knighting.

What ?

Suggesting to buy skill resets instead of agreeing with the fact that the game lacks so much information on the skill descriptions and should supply at least one free reset.

It’s a form of whiteknighting. I’m not referring to you.

i’ve played tons of games… i’ve never seen free skill resets.

if you want to know how to build your character, you need to do a lot of research and reading.
start by picking the class you want to be… whether you pick a starting class or one of the more advanced classes doesn’t matter. trace that class back to its starting class (swordie, mage, cleric, archer) and then go to the appropriate forum here on the site. read a lot about them. you can probably find compilation threads about all of the classes in that tree. this will give you at least a basic idea what you’re in for. then start looking up specific builds. analyze and examine the builds to understand -why- it chooses the classes and skills that it does. once you understand that, you can also modify the build to suit your personal tastes. sure a lot of people say SkillX is useless, but you just really like the animation, or you plan to do something different that most people would do with your build, or whatever… so maybe SkillX would be useful to you. equally, or possibly even MORE important is to understand what Stats you want for your class, and why.

Skill reset potions are available in the TP Shop for 88 TP.
Stat reset potions are not available at all.

seriously, everyone says this, but name some specific skills that are “lacking” in information.

OP complained "it can’t be done!"
the reply was “yes it can!”

this isn’t white-knighting, this is pointing out information that the OP didn’t appear to have.
all you people trying to attack others for “white knighting”…
i might laugh at you less if you could even keep your definitions/examples straight for a few minutes at a time.

same challenge to you; show me these skills that are “lacking in information”.

I don’t think the skill descriptions is the main issue, but more the general lack of information on next classes, skills and how they work.
Usually in games you have at least an overall descriptions on all the future classes so you can more or less know where you’re heading.
But here you don’t have that, and for some classes you’ll “need” a circle of another class to make it worth it. Or you may have a better version of X class in the future, which means you could have skipped it and go with something else.

TOS’ number of classes makes it really interesting, but it’s a bit lame and dumb to have to depend on 3rd party sites like TOSbase to know what skills and classes will be available, and what to choose.
Even when you check on tosbase and have decided where to go you can still “mess up” and at some point regret the skills you chose to put points in. So without any information at all in game it’s just walking on a minefield and hoping it goes well.

For a free skill reset… Why not. I’ve played a few games that offer them. But it isn’t easily given. Usually it’s from a quest (or an event) at a really high level (almost an end-game feature). I find it okay when it’s like that~

I’ll just name a few here;

  1. Psychic Pressure deals multiple hits worth of damage for its duration. Not just one. Many people have taken multiple points into Magnetic Force because they think its better than Psychic Pressure.
  2. Telekinesis actually gets increased slamming range the more points you put into it.
  3. Swap says it has a range of 20, but is actually referring to the AoE radius of the skill - and the actual range of the skill is literally as long range as the edges of the screen.
  4. Ice Wall doesn’t say anything about whacking it with melee attacks in order to trigger ice shards
  5. Fireball doesn’t say anything about hitting it with Psychic Pressure in ordre to trigger fire novas
  6. Only 2-3 of the spells in the game with cast times actually state that they have a cast time.
  7. There is no scaling information for many of the skills in game aside from damage increases or hit quantities. For example a Necromancer’s Skeletons only state that you get more skeletons with the level - when its been proven that they also get more HP based on the level - but nobody knows how much.

I could go on - the point is your claiming to be ignorant about any skills with missing information is hysterically inaccurate.

  1. the information about Psychic Pressure is quite widely available though. even the skill description says “throw enemies around FOR THE DURATION”. if people don’t experiment, that’s hardly the game designer’s fault. i mean what the hell is the point of a “duration” on a single-hit skill?

  2. neat, but it doesn’t sound especially critical.

  3. a range of 20 would be pretty much toe-to-toe. this kind of just makes sense. that said, do a lot of people really -use- swap? (legit question, i have no idea, although teleporting into the middle of a pack of enemies seems like a somewhat poor choice…)

  4. “bonus feature”. not knowing about this doesn’t make icewall useless, and if they told us everything about everything, that would leave nothing for us to discover on our own.

  5. see 4

  6. i’ve just come to generally assume everything has a cast time, and let myself be pleasantly surprised if it doesn’t. also most skills have variable cast times based on the level of the skill, making it hard to list a specific cast time. partly again a “see 4”, but not always will the things to discover be entirely great.

  7. magic attacks gain bonuses from Int. magic defenses gain bonuses from Spr. physical attacks gain bonuses from Str. it isn’t like we -really- need the -exact- numbers.

so you are a psychic and you know the extent of my knowledge? your claim about hysterical inaccuracy is itself hysterically inaccurate. i’ve asked this question a number of times before, but you’re the first to actually provide a significant list in response.

so far every skill i’ve encountered has had enough information in-game for me to decide if i’m willing to try it out or not. if i want exacting and detailed information, it’s never been -in- any mmo i’ve ever played before. same as with ToS, it’s always 3rd party sites that provide the detailed analyses of the game mechanics.

then again, maybe my “problem” is that i don’t expect every tiny detail to be handed to me, and i’m not seeking any kind of “ultimate” meta-build.

But TP cannot. :///////////

Beginner’s pack.

alternately, buy the Veteran’s pack now, and wait; in 2 weeks you’ll get a 99 TP refund.

-shrugs- i’m simply listing what your available options are. if you don’t like them, that’s up to you.

Woulda been nice if they were responsible enough to at least add one in-game as quest reward or account claim to compensate for the game lacking of a TP purchase system for so long.

you had your chance to buy all kinds of things in the past.

discounted Founders’ Pack 1 had both a Skill Reset, and the unobtainable Stat Reset. as well as 650 TP ($60 value right there alone), and plenty of other stuff… all for only $25. AND you could have started back in march.

I shouldn’t have to of done anything. It’s their job to have their products ready for consumers to purchase. They failed to, thus gaining less money. More their problem than mine. They need to be more responsible to keep and gain loyal customers.
