I have seen that popping up here and there, but no real discussion about it so far.
Why force solo players into group play? Not only from the gameplay perspective, but from the community as well. Why is/should the easiest challenge in the game -field mobs- be only possible through groupplay?
Yes, this is a MMO. You are stronger when you group up, and many ingame challenges can only be done through that. But does it have to be ALL challenges? Why not have something for the soloplayers to do? And why do some of the community try to forcefully push soloplayers into groupplay?
- A Soloplayer already has a group/guild, but most of them are doing something else (for a multitude of reasons), but the soloplayer still wants to play the game. With tangible progress, mind you.
- A former Soloplayer wants to get more into Multiplayer, but he is to introverted / socially akward and first has to warm up to the thought, so he plays solo until he feels comfortable.
Now, i don’t want to have ToS transform into another Maplestory, but i think there should be always be something that a soloplayer can do, regardless of level.
EDIT: From what i have seen so far, there seems to be a focus on talking with me, but not to the issue at hand.
The first point is of the opening post is ignored altogether. The second point seems to be ignored also, and may it only because of the “Play WoW instead” posts. (Also to your information, i never played WoW and never will.)
I clearly state that i know what MMO means, yet quite a few seem to think that i wouldn’t.
No one said that soloplayers should get “weak” mobs. To get a better understanding of the issue at hand, you should read this:
Overall, it seems that the “forcing” part is coming from the community at large as well, which makes me sad.
