For NA, did anyone use other server due to name taken?

The day ToS officially released I had planned to play on Klaipeda. However, when I went to put in my team name I was given the error that the name was already taken. I logged over to Orsha and I was able to make my team just fine using the same name no change at all.

I sent a support ticket recently since I was concerned about what would happen to team names already on Klaipeda when the merge happens. The response I received said team names are unique to the region of the servers. This would mean a name on NA can still be used on SEA. However, trying to use a name on Orsha that is already used on Klaipeda would not work.

It is possible this rule came into effect after the servers were assigned regions, but the response to my tickets has made no mention of this nor made any mention of what would happen should this conflict exist.

when the merge happens. the first one gets to use the name keeps it. the other person will be given an rename voucher or something. at least that’s how i understood it.

That is true for guild names and character names, however there is no mention of what would happen to team names.

Based on the response I got in my tickets they claim there can’t be anyone else with the same team name despite what I have said. I guess I wouldn’t be too surprised if they force a rename though, I just hope if the other person with my name has been inactive for a long time that I get to keep the name.

Char name can be used by multiple times. there is no issue there. That mostly referred to team name (gg google translation notice).

Character names can’t be used multiple times when being used by the same team, that is what IMC was talking about once the servers are merged. Should you have used the same first name on Klaipedia and Orsha, one of those characters will be forced to change their name.

You understood correctly.
It is strange though that you were able to use the same already taken name on Orsha. Do you mind sharing your team name ? I can check with you if it indeed exists on Klaipeda, or if it was maybe a bug because during EA there were a lot of players constantly creating accounts, also after a while they offer us free name resets, so maybe it’s not taken anymore.

Supposedly when you already create a name in klaipeda, you can’t make the same name in orsha, as its in the same region …its weird that you can make in orsha when in klaipeda its already taken =.=;

I know that rule is in effect nowadays. However, at the time the game released there were no regions, it was just Klaipeda and Orsha. I’m thinking that could be part of the reason why my name worked on Orsha despite the game saying it was taken on Klaipeda.

Weird, I come from way back/ start of time thing and I can tell you DrRM isn’t hard to copy paste on Orsha and I couldn’t make 2 teams with same name :confused:

send a PM to the Staff or a thicket to support for them to see whats what…

I did, send another or PM a staff AND ask them to check if there is “insert your team name here” on klaipeda and that way you can check if it is repeated…

PD: the servers have always had region and before that all data was deleted for what I can remember and that’s not much

I have sent multiple tickets, keep getting the same “names are unique to regions” as well as “not allowed to discuss account details” for a response. Not sure how asking if another team with the same name existing is sharing private account details, but that is their answer.

They also seemed to have ignored my story and not given an answer as to what could happen should such an issue exist, nor answer why I wasn’t able to make the name on Klaipeda with the name taken error, yet able to make it on Orsha just fine seconds later.

Maybe I worded it wrong, while yes technically Klaipeda and Orsha were NA servers. The day ToS released it was just those two servers and no [NA] to indicate their region. I wouldn’t be surprised if they added additional rules while they were setting up additional servers for more regions.

Is there a list or thread of the different staff members? I don’t know any of them and don’t know if they have different areas they specialize in.

Yea not sure what the support section is for. Seems like their hands are bound so the only answers they offer are generic ones that don’t help or ones that redirect you to the announcements even though I just came from there lol.

pretty sure region already exists around that time, or else I could make my name in varena too (which I can’t)

No. During EA, at least the first few days, there were no Varena or whatever. Only two servers at first: Klaipeda and Orsha. There was no region or anything. That was added later on.

It’s fine anyway, together we verified that his name isn’t taken on Klaipeda.

but, didn’t they deleted the Early access data :confused:

Maybe am remembering wrong, cause my memory sucks and all that…

happy to know he won’t have trouble with the name when the merge happen (hopefully)

You see, if the name had a duplicate on the same region and since there is a rule of “there can only be one”…

if the merge happens, one of the teams would have to be deleted or hopefully forced to change the name of his team…
