Pretty old bug that’s not fix yet. Usually happen when boss walk toward you. Can still attack them from above. This also include many other boss not only Cyclops.
the same just happened to me, I was fighting the cyclops too, he just walked towards me and then I was floating, I could kill him just autoattacking from there

Thi is happening to me very often. Im not sure but it seems that playing with the mouse option makes this bug happens more often.

As a keyboard player I think it happen often too. 
do you mean the guard with C? yeah, they don’t conflict with each other, they are completely different things
