Fletcher + Falconer iOBT

So this is the build I was thinking of Fletcher + Falconer

I played Ranger c3 Fletcher in CBT2 and this seemed like the logical progression as I’ve heard circling is really good for AoE attacks.

Archer C1 - Got full draw here figured the skew effect might be useful to immobilize stuff and drop magic arrow on it. The other option is to just put in more points to Oblique.

Ranger C3: Steady Aim, Barrage, Bounce, Spiral maxed. Got High Anchoring lvl 1 to reduce crit resistance. Not sure how much High Anchoring is helped by Circling (if at all). Put extra points into Time Bomb Arrow atm.

Fletcher C2: Bodkin Lvl 1 to remove defense shields basically. Barbed to destroy cloth. Crossfire as an additional AoE (0 cooldown) + hopefully circling makes this better. Magic Arrow seems good didn’t get a chance to use it last time. Can cause silence to normal mobs and damage seems ok for bosses. Broadhead for some damage + Bleeding.

Falconer: Circling. I haven’t played kr OBT but does anyone know how well circling works with Barrage / High Anchoring / Crossfire?

Stats: For the iCBT I used like 40 SPR and mostly DEX with some STR. Was thinking about something similar.

All suggestions welcome!

for pve go with 4;1 str /dex no need for SPR , mana pot are enough.
Some even go full STR and use gloves for accuracy.
And use at least a r7 job ( canno /musketeer ) their dmg vastly oustip all other job. whithout one of them , i doubt any build is really worth it.

Hmm cool, thanks. I think I’ll make significant changes then. I’ll get cannoneer for R7 and maybe ditch fletcher alltogether. Instead get Archer 2 and Falconeer for Rank 5 and 6. Still need info on how Circling works with skills. Does it make Barrage hit more targets?

Does it make cannon blast / shot hit more targets?

Archer 2 will be for Swift step bonus + lvl 10 multishot which might be good with circling? Don’t know what else I could take for Rank 5, not sure if Fletcher R1 is worth it.

fletcher isnt worth it below c3.

circling works like that (first a lesson about AOE ratio)

  • your attack have an aoe ratio of 5.
  • there is 4 enemies in the 5x5 area.
  • the enemies have an aoe ratio defense of 3 - 2 -1 and 1 respectivly
  • the bigger aoe ratio def enemie is hit first, the aoe ratio of your attack go down by 3, 2 aoe ratio atk is left.
  • the second enemie have an aoe ratio def of 2 , you have 2 point left, he takes dmg too.
  • the other 2 enemies do not take any dmg, even if they are in the area of aoe. because the aoe ratio of you attack is exhausted.

Circling reduce the AOe DEF ratio of enemies (most have3 aoe def ratio) , so the AOE ATK ratio of your skills never decrease and go unstopped to hit all enemies.

This video show you an exemple with multishot who normaly only hits 1 or 2 target.

Hope that’ll help you decide

How do you know what the AoE ratio of skills is :O. tosbase shows it for like High Anchoring but not most other skills of Ranger (barrage) or cannoneer.

By the above explanation, barrage should work the same way? If normally its hits 3 enemies then with circling it might hit 5 or wtv? Any confirmation it works for cannon blast/shot and crossfire?

tobase may not be up to date with skills description, but you will normaly see the aoe ratio ingame.

but some skill do not have aoe attack ratio, and hit everything whithin the area everytime.

as for cannonner it seems to normaly hit around 3-4 regular target only without circling

(see next and previous video on youtube named 1 to see without circling)

Thanks! Hmm I’ve been going with Ranger because of steady aim but that QS with Pavise to tank destroys pretty large mobs.
