After rank 8 release, my first archer it’s kinda useless because I was doing an archer for world boss hunt (and now it have a time penalty for hunt bosses).
So my build won’t work for mergen and I’m doing another archer to get mergen.
What I’m doing is Archer c2 for swift step with crit, Ranger c1 (barrage, steady aim) Scout C1 for Cloaking and flu flu.
My question is where to go from this. I want a pve archer and there’s 2 ways to get for me: Wugushi C3 or Fletcher C3. What is the best C3 to get Mergen at rank 8?
wugushi might be better for general pve, fletcher is more single target
although both probably have great single target wugushi might have better aoe, but i’m not sure how wugushi would scale compared to a fletcher to rank 8.
Wugu falls off late game unless you go high str. Fletcher on the other hand still great. Mergen is a high burst high cooldown class. You need something to fill in between. In this case fletcher or scout 3 would be better.

going high str might be bad for a mergen build, for those reasons i would say that what nicola said is right scout 3 or fletcher.
For stats I was about something like 100~150 dex, 50 con and all left on str. The hp of the mobs at lv 220+ it’s like 100k+ and I play alone most of the time. Fletcher seems to be single target even with magic arrow. Wugushi have the spread poison and I was wondering if this helps in late game more than fletcher skills. Scout c3 only for split arrow? It’s that good?
split arrow is awesome when attacking 2-3 enemies
im a qs3 wugu 3 mergen, full str.
Im doing very well at pretty much every late game content, going ET up to 10f now, but already able to go 15f at ET, very ez to solo dungeons and farm silver, have never lost any boss, even against flecthers, NO REGREATS at all. u can get a decent crit chance going sissel + lvl 8 gems.
don’t you die a lot in the new maps? I have a friend SR who had gone full str and was having a hard time levelling in the new map now and was thinking of switching to full dex with stat reset, With my qs3 wugu2 both scale well with str stat, and pumping dex means gimping wugu circle. so I’ve stopped playing this class for now.
does your poison still do decent amount of damage with 500k hp mobs? lvl 8 gems is hard to get if I have to rely on that
Mergen needed to show up big as THE Bow option at rank 8 for a lot of builds. Fletcher3, wugu3, scout3 and rogue3 all needed a cool landing spot. If there was a player test server maybe mergen would be in a better spot?
It is ok that the game designers catered a late game weapon for qs3 players, but why couldn’t they make weapons or clean up deficiencies with these other classes. All everyone hears about wugu is that it is ok but it falls off late game and other wugu’ mess each other’s damage up. There is a lot of creative ideas and possibilities to get wugu players excited especially when you as a game designer know what is limiting the class.
I would recommend rethinking parts of that build so you can go Falcon - Mergen for the last two ranks if you want to go the Wugu route. They are just too good together when it comes to damage late game to miss out on.
