Fletcher Alternative Help (Archer2 -> Ranger2)

Good day everyone,

Can you guys suggest a suitable class for my build later on? I was originally planning on building a Fletcher, but recently I read that casting Fletcher skills has an annoying delay to it. Or is it already fixed, I’ve been reading recent post that the delay is still there.

My current stats is 31 CON and rest is DEX. If you need additional info so that from my current skills, let me know so that I could provide them with details.

This was the build I was planning to make:

Many thanks.

Well, the delay still exists, but Fletcher is a perfectly playable and enjoyable class to precede Mergen/Hacka. In your planned build I would only put a point in Heavy Shot for push utility (noticeable to push some mobs at MA) and put 15 Broadhead/14 Barbed (I prefer more dot). Scout over Ranger 2 could bring for you some additional dot and mobility (unless you pretend to play along with a Krivis 3 at your side, then more levels on Steady Aim should be preferable).

Now if you really want to ditch out Fletcher in a Mergen’s build, try to combine Falconer (AoE is a god-send for Mergen) and some sustainable damage (Wugushi / QS3 maybe) because of Mergen’s long cooldowns

Thanks for the tip man. I really wanted Fletcher from the beginning, so if the delay I’ve kept seeing in the forum is playable and enjoyable enough, then no need for me to switch plans.

Have additional questions, is Fletcher expensive to maintain? I mean the arrows for the skills? I also keep seeing that other people think that it is too expensive and say it will only be for the beginning and at later levels, you loot will cover the expense.

My first character was a Fletcher and, as a solo player with low resources and limited time to play I never had issues with arrows. Fletcher permits that you easily farm high HP mobs, so materials and silver are not a problem.

If you are focused on Mergen and are concerned about AoE, maybe you should look on A2-Sapper2-Fletcher3-Mergen possibility (nowadays with rodelero/monk/dragoon strike debuffs Broom Trap achieves some good endgame damage so it could be interesting if you have friends and want some extra AoE).

Here’s my current situation.

Right now, I’m Lv. 83 at Rank 4 on my posted build. I’m planning to be a more DEX type build, but not pure. I plan to switch to STR once I feel like the current DEX I have is efficient (around 200 DEX maybe?).

My playstyle is to use Oblique Shot to lure, then use Barrage/Auto-attack depending on the mob placements and how much HP they have. I’m using +5 Catapult with Arde Dagger I bought from the Market.

With this given, do you think it would be best if I just follow my planned build or switch to something else? I would love to create a new character if ever, I don’t have that much patience. I don’t use the EXP cards and finish Monster Kill every map.

And the delay here in the video I saw is very long. I hope this is only due to the player’s server connection. Because if ever, I could play Fletcher without that kind of delay since I have great connection / low ping most of the time.

Sorry for the long post.

God damn it, certainly the guy at the video has some server connection problem. There is a animation delay at Fletcher’s skills, but not even close like that.

I think your build is good to go, surely when you’ll be questing at rank 8 maps you would desire a rank of scout because cloaking is life, but just for convenience, nothing extremely necessary.

About stats, only consider putting STR if your Critical Rate is, with Swift Step Critical attribute, around 700~750 at endgame. STR is now almost obsolete because of transcendence and yellow gems.

Stick to your A2-R2-Fletcher3-Mergen and good game!

Thanks man! You’ve really helped me a lot.

Glad to know this game has a very helpful community.

Just follow this build as Scout c1 cloaking really helpful for everything. Credits to @Nicola

The thing about this game is, you really can’t expect the class until you already try it.

Yup, I saw @Nicola’s build. But I guess it’s too late for me to get the Scout skills since I’m already at Archer2 -> Ranger2.

Are Scout’s C1 skills really necessary on later levels? Because I usually finish all Monster Hunt in a map before I move to the next to avoid using the EXP cards, that’s why I thought Cloaking would not be efficient for me.

a2 r2 fl3 mergen

You ain’t a fletcher yet so there are still many other options available for you.

I will not enter the whole circle choice to overload you with info, but I’m gonna say I’m one of the few that don’t think ranger 2 is bad.

In fact, ranger is taken mainly for steady aim and barrage, if you go circle 3 you take two tier 2 skills ( Spiral arrow and bounce shot) that will not benefit your DPS that much anyway. This is common in most circle skills of archer tree in general, where you get one/two good skills and a bunch of garbage fillers with leftover points, plus if you go fletcher spiral arrow is pretty redundant with fletcher skill (aka useless) no matter what.

If you want to focus on fletcher, I do like a2>ranger2>fletcher3>hacka or mergen, since you basically give up a filler of scout 1 for +5% steady aim (pretty significant with meltis).

If you want to skip fletcher, you can go in a lot of different direction, but given you are ranger 2 I would especially like

archer 2 > ranger 3 > X (I do like rogue to increase barrage damage, pretty significant given u are ranger 3) > falconer 1 mergen 1 (especially with mergen, that would be my go to build If I would consider mergen for my R8 archer)

Till consider that scout helps a lot for exploration and aggro desink, but I don’t like to take full utility circle on a DPS char (I do kinda play in grp all the time tho and that’s why I overvalue extra steady aim points from ranger 2+, so it’s up to you)

A2Ranger3Sr3 (solmiki/library char) plus a2Ranger2Fletcher3Hacka (hopefull my new main for off meta sweetness) here, just my 2 cents

ps: sapper2 can also be a sweet archer, but I’m newbie theorycraft wise for it so I’m not giving any suggestion in that direction!

ar2 + ra2
ar2 + ra1 + sc1

ra2 have better steady aim
sc1 have utility trade off

My personal build is a2>r2>f3>mergen and I’m quite happy with it. I wouldn’t go scout personally if you are stricly focused on bossing. If you want the extra utility (pvp and pve) then maybe take one rank of scout.
