Fix pyro please

Didn’t know that since I haven’t taken many attributes really high since the change, I only recall someone reading that it adds to skill factor and only glanced over it at tos.neet.tv, but I actually bothered to look at it there and you’re right, my bad. Flare has enhance too though so they both increase with this, but certainly enchant fire will not.

You’re saying that fireball requires items and money, but expect an AA build to do it on less? I’m not saying an AA build will match it at higher levels, I didn’t bother taking my Pyro that route as I mainly made him to try Enchanter, didn’t like it overall and he’s just going to sit there with his Event weapon for now, so that’s what he has. With higher MAtk from weapons and the newer formula of course the more you fund it with stronger items the better scaling attacks are going to end up since EF scales largely with INT (and MinMatk) in this build.

I guess the real point here was at least starting off and up to the point where I am (not investing in a 315 weapon or better, not having thauma in build or anything like that) fireball feels a bit weak. If I rank reset to try it a different way and built around fireball more with what you said, I’m sure it would indeed be strong. I’ve had no problem getting decent damage out of EF+EL w/ Pardoner buffs where I am now though for running 290dg and some 320HG hunting but that’s very light for what I do. Also, I actually do party with auto attackers where EF shows good use pretty often, so maybe my view is skewed there as well.

They already said what they’re intending to nerf with it, they won’t allow temporary buffs to effect shop (DM, Transmit Prana, etc), maybe they’ll add more, but that’s what I’ve stated so far anyhow.

I link and AA with those buffs and have no problem anyhow

I suppose it’s fairer to say that Fireball will take reaching a certain point in MAtk to really show it’s value whereas EF can show value up until that point due to extra AA line, AA buffs, and blessing, as well as helping the party if you’re usually in one.

Just rework Fire Ball like we seen it in the first trailers of the game, give it the AoE effect of the actual Fire Ball with 2 OH, done.

Nope sorry, it’s like Energy Bolt but with cast time if I’m correct. But they could make it like actual Energy Bolt + the AoE.

sadly, most all pyro combos are not worth using now.
adding 5 overheats is not gonna help, and will just make it more difficult for them to fix pyro while “saving face”.

Even with the 5 OH fireball its hardly worth using because of its derp long animation :confused: its tooooooooooooo damn slow and have such a long after cast animation that makes it a very bad skill. Honestly i would rather prefer to get a new fireball with just 2 OH if they fix that derp cast animation, its pure cancer.

i can live with the animation. But the main problem of pyro is that I think it is meant to be a viable dps class. At the moment with 2 overheat, i find myself lacking things to cast when only using pyro skills.

I think the 5 OH change will make builds like pyro chrono, pyro 1 linker 3 alch, pyro 1 link 2 thaum 2 war 1 enchant 1, more viable. I never had much problems casting fireball because it has to do with how you position yourself. This change to fireball will hopefully make pyro a viable class for dps in endgame for class combinations that use alch, chrono or thauma.

exactly. it helps pyro1 --> somethings. it might even be sexy with link3 or chrono3 if attack speed helps fireball casting like with other 5 overheat skills.
pyro3 remains otherwise hopeless, and even saddened by the fireball duration cut.

link is also dead.

it only use is to bug the pardoner shop.

nah, link is sorta useful for solo farming, or link3 lifeline parties(thaum3 buffs for example)
JP is a rather terrible party experience now, especially with randoms

I don’t have a lot of troubles with JP, yes it was nerfed to the ground, it’s still working pretty well. What’s not working, as said above, is the brain from few people. It’s still good in parties even if you have one dumb guy who is doing everything to stop JP for whatever reason.

what we really need for JP might just be… “joint penalty, selfish linking” attribute. or the reverse, by default only owner dmg goes through JP unless they turn on attribute… (would screw over homunculus though)

Woah, just tested fireball + micro dimension’s duplicate and found out duplicate can’t multiple more than 2 targets at once. That 5 OH is less appealing now. Fireball already have too much delay, but too add 2 more micro dimension’s usages to this is impractical indeed.

Major problems with Pyro now fireball’s delay (so big it doesn’t feel like worthcasting), flame ground punny damage (how can a skill so similar to frost cloud be worse than it in everything?), and fire wall aspect ratio (1 aoe per hit? Make it go along with character’s aoe at least).
It is still funny to play pyro, but having an elememe myself, you always feel like it’s lacking something (and that thing is DPS).

Casted 2 fireballs, waited 9 seconds for cooldown, did it again, casted micro dimension and only 2 out of 4 got multiplied. Had to use micro dimension again to duplicate the remaining 2

i think it only duplicates 2 because it is counted as 1 micro dimension clone cast for 1 skill cast of 2 overheat.
My guess is that we will be able to clone 5 fireballs because of 5 overheat because of this : http://tos.nexon.com/community/tosnotice/view.aspx?n4ArticleSN=759

Wait a minute! :thinking:

Instead of having 5 overheats with a slow cast time and getting hit a lot, add those 5 fireballs to 1 fireball. Let fireball hit 5 times. Place a timer on the explosions and explode once every 1-2 seconds if a monster is in range. This would also make us more mobile and don’t have to keep spamming the skill… :sweat_smile:

Agreed, anyways it seems like they are having a hard time trying to balance this skill, i guess the pyro-linker agny era left a huge scar on them.

It actually works as he says, tested this a few days ago and it can only clone max 2 fireballs, but we dont know yet if after the 5oh this would be changed, i mean, it should, literlly that’s like the only “good” interaction left for fireball since the PP+fireball one was nerfed to the ground too.
