Hello everyone and the ToS staff. I’ve been playing since this morning and I gotta say, it was definitely refreshing. I’d like to talk about the pros and cons of my first experience with Tree of Savior.
Pros:
Everything is definitely on point as how I saw it from the trailers. Gameplay, graphics, and combat is phenomenal and filled with freedom, which says a lot about how there’s class lock. I have so much praise to say about this game. xD
However I want to emphasize something most of all. THE MUSIC.
My ears were literally felt like they took a vacation to Hawaii and enjoyed professional massages with lobster ravioli and the finest wine to feast on.
The soundtrack isn’t something I’ll be tired of anytime soon. For me the music is good enough to literally forget the grind, and enjoy the game. 10/10 you guys definitely nailed it. The sound effects are both recognizable and enjoyable, a mix of nostalgia with an added bonus of awesome.
Cons:
As expected, there was bound to be lag, but it didn’t exactly impede combat, speech, or anything cosmetic for me. However, it ruined literally almost any and everything involving the space interaction key. I’m currently stuck on my main and sub quests due to the lag being so massive that I can’t continue on them. Sure I can mindlessly grind to still have some form of progression but I’m actually intrigued by the story so far and the characters. Channels increase, and reduce in size and change randomly, which also didn’t really sit right with me or the folks I was trying to party with. Most boss “events” or “instances” (when the screen goes a bit dark at the top and there’s a film roll symbol at the top center) ended up locking me in and trapping me for a good 5-15 minutes even after I defeated the boss.
The quests themselves on the map are a bit difficult to find again if you move from the original spot, and some for who knows what reason don’t even show up. I’m not specifically talking about hunting quests either. Some are just a bit vauge.
The bugles…are in need of moderation. Particularly the spammers. I was hoping there would be cooldowns on them actually. Some pusbag possibly spoiled Civil War for me in the bugle. That isn’t cool at all. The filter works at least. A little too well. Class is censored. I’m assuming because of the last half of the word can be seen as vulgar. Even so I find that very absurd.
During the evening the lag got worse so I took a break, but I know the staff is probably hard at work trying to help server stability. I only hope that it’s soon because I would definitely like to continue my quests and sidequests. Other than that keep up the good work ToS staff. Make us proud!
