Field Boss Drops

If you’re going to make field bosses drop items for everyone, then don’t make it so only parties get the drops.

It’s really annoying when you’re hitting the boss from the start doing good DPS and then when it dies, everyone in a party even if doing ■■■■ damage or support get items, while you don’t get anything because you couldn’t find a party slot and even one person on a party doing the same DPS as you is enough for the rest of the party to get the drops.

It’s a stupid and unfair system, you either make it drop items for everyone even if not in party or you make it drop stuff randomly so at least someone that didn’t get a party slot has a chance of getting a drop.

Where does this misconception come from?

That is constructer’s lodge basement boss, 10% drop rate. Doesnt matter if you are on a party or not.

That is not the case.

I killed at least 1 fieldboss where I was solo, and got a cube from it, so partying has nothing to do with it.
And secondly I hit on a fieldboss just today and was in a party, but none of us got a drop.

If you get a drop or not seems to be only related to other factors most likely how much damage you actually did.

I think they need to just change it to a certain percentage of damage per person. Cause ive been in a party group that everyone’s doing really good damage and not gotten anything as well. It almost feels like it’s not working as it should be working. Kinda sucks when you played a part in it and dont get anything. But I don’t think if your just standing afk near the boss you should get free stuff.

I’m pretty certain that it is based off of the percent of damage you do to the boss. I’ve killed over 20 world bosses on Saule server and have gotten a cube every time except the against bosses that I arrive too late to and its already almost dead. I never am in a party either when I participate so it is not party based.

Most of this information is speculation, i’ve done large amounts of dps in a party for the whole fight from start to end and still have not received any drops nor has my party. So IMC needs to clarify if you do DPS to a certain amount and then you have a % chance to obtain a drop or you just don’t get a chance at all after some point. @noir_skoll I’m sure no one wants afkers to get free stuff but if you dps it for a whole duration it would be nice to know that you will have a chance for something.

Just now I was doing damage to a boss since it was at 80% health and didn’t get anything while someone that came late and got into a party got a cube.

This is not the first time it happened, I haven’t gotten any goddamn cube this beta test.

Yeah I just figured I would comment on that but yeah we need some more info on how it works. It would also make sense to have something for people who are playing support as long as they are actually supporting somehow and not standing around as a support.

I had not thought about that at all actually, what would happen to a full support cleric, dropping heals with no damage but to help there party stay alive yet not being able to dps enough. maybe attribute the contribution of the party instead of just one individuals dps amount when in a party. that’s a tough one.

Eh I think all you have to do to be considered for the drop “rng” roll is to have at least damaged the field/world boss once ^^.

There might even be a limit on capped amount of rewards and if thats the case then that would mean if the amount of people exceeds the cap most people won’t get stuff. And if it’s already taken into account people who are supporting with heals and stuff. Some of the people doing damage might just not be getting loot because of the cap. Which really wouldn’t be considered fair either because those bosses require a lot of people to defeat if half of the people just left thinking they wouldn’t get loot then the boss wouldn’t end up being killed or it would take so much longer / not be worth killing.

Yeah but then what prevents people from logging into 20+ alts and hitting the boss and afking in a corner. You need to make it a % based thing like everyone who does 1% or 5% of the bosses hp as damage gets loot and then you could base the healing off either HPS for overall fight or healing people with the most damage something to that effect.

All these are good points, I think we need further information and testing about this.

A droplimit sounds actually reasonable, maybe we could get the word out that anyone that participates in a fieldboss kill counts the number of cubes the boss dropped.

As far as I can tell every time there is people that dont get cubes so that could really be it.
