Falconer's Roost

Hello, I am sure many of you are unaware that falconer c1 has this skill called roost for those that are aware, isn’t it the worst joke possible?

What does this skill even do you ask? Well, it allows your falcon to stay without the need of using call, but it only allows this to be done near the roost and it also goes away once you walk too far from it.

So! I come here with a little suggestion, we all know that falconer has this red icon, supposedly means that falconer is a damage dealer class. well, my suggestion is as follows: Add an attribute to roost that boost strike damage.

How should this attribute work? well, similar to a dievbirby’s statue, causing any enemy that enters the area to have a debuff that boost strike damage with an area of effect similar to circling’s maybe.

This would allow a falconer to deal double damage, but it would also boost hunter, cataphract, sapper and monk skills to name a few classes that would benefit from a strike buff.

So that way falconer could perhaps approach that red icon a little more while at the same time remain a support.

What should the attribute add as an added cost to roost? well, I personally think that 1 min CD roost has is already high, so perhaps double or triple sp consumption would be fine?

This would also add value to taking that joke skill called roost, if the area is too small it would keep roost as a joke skill.

They really need to fix that skill.

The animation delay with the hawk roosting (which also causes skills to not work if used and go on CD unless they already fixed that) and flying up when a skill is used is just retarded.

Call + other skill is much more reliable. Good thing C3s have First Strike which allows us to use Pheasant/Sonic while Circling/Hovering is on without recalling the hawk after each skill.

When I skill resetted (I messed up some low rank skills), I skipped Roost and rather saved the point in case I need to up Circling or another skill at some point later.

That’s true, this is another reason why this skill is largely avoided. Right now it has 0 reason to exist, for this very reason I’m saving a skill point, I expect them to either forget it altogether or do something like what I suggested.

This skill is there maybe just because the falconer theme, but it has to get some use, it’s nonsense that they allow skills to be there just cause. add some use to them!

To increase the value of Roost, they could just add an attribute to Call that changes Call to make the Falcon roost when Call is used and the stag/whatever it’s called is out on the field in sight range of the Falcon.

Also, where’s the Toucan and the Barn Owl? I might make an Archer if they actually make those two available as alternatives to the ugly Falcon.

I don’t know when they’ll add those birds, and let’s pray for weapon slots.

Now regarding call + roost, you mean that if roost is out whenever you use call the bird should sit? because roost only thing is that the bird won’t fly away when you use falconer skills, granted, if you stay near the roost. So using call when roost is out, by the intended way it should work is not required.

Now if you advance to falconer c1 for utility’s sake you don’t need roost, it does nothing for you. If you advance to c3 there’s no use for roost, preemtive strike keeps the bird around and allows the use of all skills.

So as it stands roost has 0 value, its attribute only does one thing and that is: increase the range you can walk away from it before it goes away.

So if you must play around this to keep your bird around if you’re a falconer c1~c2 let it better boost your damage or do something pretty, because you can live without it, specially now that call had its CD shorten from 15 seconds to only 1 second.

bump

Well since I made this thread I went ahead and put a point on roost.

PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS SKILL.

I’m under the impression that bumpy terrain makes it go away faster, can’t confirm.

But comeon! it just last for 3 hits, it can hold aggro and it survives 3 hits! if it is this weak, why cannot do something like I suggested? if it boosted strike damage like lethargy does it most certainly would be desirable.

-Edit-

You can even make us buy “enhanced roost made by the dievirby master himself because the falconer master sent his bird to eat the rats on his wine cellar” but make sure they last for like 15 hits or something, and that they’re not that expensive.
