I’ve already maxed [Train: Flying Companion], should I bother upgrading this?

I tried equipping a [Didel Tower Shield with 2x Lv6 Red Gems and the Physical Attack value didn’t increase.

Red gems on secondary equipment definitely do not increase pet stats. I also tested this quite thoroughly.

I am not aware of Hawk attack stat affecting any Hawk skills. Pretty sure the consensus previously was that it did in the early days but must have been changed. Ktos players reported it and then itos players found that information to be incorrect.

That might even be somewhere within the deep of this thread.

They do increase, odly enough though, if you don’t equip a weapon to raise the attack it is completly ignored for some reason.

Here let me show you with my battlle bird:

Weapon & shield

Shield equipped

Weapon + shield

Weapon alone

IMC magic code at work Ladies & Gentlemen.

Dang… so it’s just leveling up that’ll increase my Falcon’s attack then. Oh well , just gotta queue up some more then :stuck_out_tongue:

if you don’t equip a weapon to raise the attack it is completly ignored for some reason.

This is not the case for the Hawk, where you can only equip a secondary and it will ignore the red gem regardless of there being no primary weapon.

It’s almost like a primary weapon secretly already exists. Could be true. Might be something super hacky going on in order to provide the Hawk with its invulnerability.

As I said IMC’s magic code.
I do not have a dagger with a red gem, I’d take a guess and say that it would work if you equip a dagger, as it would also increase the attack.

Not saying that it would work for sure, but, it probably could.

Right now I do not know why they did not add any weapon slots to the hawk, and now with the rebalance I doubt they would or that a bird with slots will surface this or the other year.

-Edit-
Oh I forgot, daggers are weapons, darn well, disregard that.

I didn’t know that there was a limit to the training… they should make this interface better.

Is there?
As far as I know it is limited by your silver, and it starts to demand some ludicrous amounts after a little invesment.

Train:flying companion attribute from Genklas Metai is maxed at lv 30, around 600k silver to maxed it

hello fellow saviors, i’m here because i’d like to have a question answered regarding the falconer class =)

1) does anyone feels that the class damage is underwhelming?

i mean, i like to farm and quest on random maps throughout the game, so what i’m asking is if i’ll have a hard time doing this if i choose to play as a falconer. also, i’m running a QS3, so my guess is that i’ll need some rank 6+ damage dealing skills, specially on higher level maps.

Prior to reaching R8, you might feel that way. After I got my Falconer to its 3rd and final circle, the Falcon (Pre-Emptive Strike + Sonic Strike only) does most of the work for me.

You gotta invest in a weapon too ofc.

To be honest, you’d perform way better than my Falc3 simply because you have a reasonable amount of consistent output with QS3. For reference, my char is A2-R1-Sc1-Ro1-Fal3.

EDIT: For inspiration (post revamp). Check out this person’s channel for other variants as well.

falconer3 excels at AOE and party play, dont compare that damage with running shoot for bossing, you will feel underwhelming.

thank you for the info and video.

yes, i’m aware of that. i’m just worried that my qs3 won’t be enough to solo while i’m leveling up, so i was wondering if falconer has some sort of damage dealing source by itself until rank 8.

I’m a sapper2scout1falcon3. For questing I normally use multishot, fulldraw, aa and occasionally sapper skill. Falconer Circling only in party dungeon for multishot aoe. For sure yours will be easier to reach r8. Just get enough mdef if you need that few lv12 exp card quest to reach r8.

I’ve been thinking about making a A2Qs3Falc3 recently because it seems really fun, but I’ve been reading that you need decent ping to play it properly. My ping averages around 16ms during gameplay, would that be enough to play a QS3 alright or should I seek an alternative Falc3 build?

16ms… Or 160ms?

If your ping is 16ms you must live across the road from the server. 16ms is less than 1 frame at 60fps. If the server is getting your inputs at that speed, there is really no way for inputs to be meaningfully better.

Sorry, I did mean around 160ms. Though in less crowded areas I manage around 60-80ms.

We could honestly calculate this. It depends on the number of frames that an attack requires before accepting another input. (because it lacks a buffer)

At 160ms, your max attack speed will be 6.25 attacks per second. Assuming that the server only allows one “attack” message to be sent to the server before accepting the following “attack” input.

We would have to know what the theorhetical max attack speed is and calculate from there to get a very accurate idea.

If the max attack speed is faster than 6.25/second then 160ms will be a limiting factor.

If max attack speed is slower than 6.25/second then it will not make a difference, other than possibly being an additional amount of time added onto the end of every attack.

I would honestly say that based on feeling from playing Monk, you need under 100ms or you can feel the added lag. Under 80 being most preferable.

If IMC would add an input buffer to the game like every game in the FGC then this issue would be eliminated, the server would have your second input after your previous input saved server-side during the attack animation of your previous input. This would eliminate the lag issues that attack speed has. I do not know why this was not implemented a long time ago, it’s a quality of life improvement that’s been extremely commonplace in games for over a decade now.

Many thanks for the answer, man. That was really informative.

I think I’ll give it a go as QS for now. I’ve checked a few times during my dungeons today and I was getting about 80ms inside. If during the reset event I feel the lag’s affecting it too much, I’ll change.
