Falconer Rework and Skill Balancing

ALSO!
The attribute CIRCLING EXPAND now is not worth to level up more than 1 level.
this give u AOE+3 per 11 sec when using circling, that’s enough time to throw 2 or 3 skills and get the benefits. i just leave it in 1 and get back around 40.000 atribute points from it
leveling it up only add 1 sec per level ( too expensive)

I had it on 2 of my char but the requirement is too annoying. You need to move to the right direction, long delay which you can’t spam all overheat at once and sometimes I unable to cast for whatever reason.

I ditched the skill both on my char for my preferred skill management.

This^

I was hitting 230k on each hit as crit PER pheasant strike (so 230k x5 hits with the attrib) in solmiki dps floors until 30f

Bug or intented?

I have one reset left and changing my main SR to a Falc3Merg since I hear it’s better for team play. Just wondering, is hovering not worth putting any points in? What Mergen skills are must-max?

If you’re going for Falc3 Hovering is useless, you’ll be using Pre-Emptive with Sonic Strike instead (Sonic Strike does more damage than Hovering while also being able to hit more than 1 mob, and Pre-Emptive does it every 5 seconds…)

Also as Falc3, since Pre-Emptive doesn’t cost any SP to activate, you can just spam it and get a free Sonic Strike every 5 seconds (so basically you get a free 100k+ dmg, even at 0 SP)

I’m pretty sure Hovering is only used if you go for Falc1 or 2 (and even then for Falc2 you’d max Sonic Strike, you’d use it more often than Hovering for sure)

Okay, if it only hits one target I guess it’s only useful for pvp or maybe bossing, thanks.
Guess I’ll go with what Jack posted above.

Hovering is more for PvP, if you haven’t used hovering ever, let me enlight you: It doesn’t hit what you want, it chooses its own targets. So… for bosses that summon stuff is pretty useless.

Oh PVP, i see
And i’ve used Hovering before the rework, it wasn’t that good but heh, better than pheasant imo

Atm, Pheasant is one of the best skills falconer has because of the new attribute.

Didnt they fix this in ktos before it got released to us?

Anyway playing as a falc3merg myself, I think id rather use the rest of my skills in my skill kit that spam PES

No idea about the fix.

And yeah, obviously you want to use more than pre-emptive, but when you’re at 0 SP that’s still better than just doing auto-attacks in most cases.

Pre-emptive is nice but in the end, it’s just something you activate before using your other skills to do extra damages without doing anything on top of dodging & spamming.

As for the other Falconer skills, they’re pretty useful too, but for damages, i think the only one that comes close to sonic strike (it term of utility) is pheasant, and even then that’s with all the attributes (wich turn it into a 350 ~ 400 SP skill, it becomes really good but most of the time just using your other skills will be enough, especially if you have Bloody Overdrive as BM).

Ya I find myself using all skills in rotations just enough when CDs start to wear ofd

is it good idea just to keep circling lvl 1 and put the rest of point to hovering?
call 1 roost 1 circling 1
pheasant 15 sonic strike 10 aiming 5 preemptive strike 5
rest of the point hovering 7
i really like the idea of blitz beat hunter in ro xD

I made an archer2 qs3 falc3 mergen. It plays the SAME as blitz beat hunter. And it also has the pheasant nuke and a lot of supportive potential for yourself and your party with aiming and circling… You’ll love it, trust me!

Ah, one side note: activating preemptive strike doesn’t cost sp, but CONSTANTLY DRAINS THEM. Keep that in mind and stock on blue potions!

wat i mean is… is it good idea to use preemptive strike with auto attack from sonic strike and hovering?
or is it just better to use auto attack from sonic strike and didnt use hovering?

Sonic Strike is better than hovering in general imo, i’d say it’s not worth using both.
I haven’t tried without pre-emptive attributes since the falconer update, but before it was really weird, the AI always seemed confused when both could be activated.

Imo hovering is mostly a 1 rank skill anyway (as in, you’d just do Falconer 1 and then get other classes). Before the update afaik that was a bad idea, but i think with the new attributes it wouldn’t be too bad (especially if you’re doing bosses since it has a boost on these).

I tested Hovering after the rework.
While you indeed notice the higher damage against bosses there are some major drawbacks:

1st most times Roost likes to delay your Hawk when you cast it and with hovering it can get real annoying and let the hawk be stuck on it entirely

2nd when fighting near a wall or something leading the Hawk to a non-even circle (hence flying higher at some points) it may happen that its attack straight miss everytime it attacks from the higher angle

3rd the imo biggest problem is that the does not priorize its targets compared to Sonic S. resulting in attacks against non-important targets (boss summons / traps)

If those issues would get fixed Hovering could indeed be an alternative, but not at the moment

ic2… good point… then its not worth to use both sonic strike and hovering in preemptive strike…
also single skill on boss… lol… guess ill just up the leftover point to circling and didnt up any point in hovering… thx for the input…
also which is better? full dex or full str?
my build is archer2qs3falc3mergen1

Honestly, i don’t know for mergen, i’m BM1 and my build focuses on crit rate & crit hits in general (full dex, high lvl green gems on weapons).

I’ve seen people argue about increase both stats as well, depending on ping (good ping > full dex because hits register more often, so more critical hits. Bad ping > dex & str).

Hovering outDPS’s Sonic Strike against bosses.
