Falconer circle 3 or don't bother?

So thinking of this build. Archer 2, Sapper 2, Rogue 1, Falcon 2 and Mergen 2. The latest rave is falconer 3 or go home is what I’m reading. Not sure if its bad game design to require a class to take something to vastly improve gameplay. I’d like to go mergen circle 3 as I like archers in general but would this limit my group play? Nobody wants archers that don’t have circle 3 falconer?

Bullet Marker 2
Musketeer
Cannoneer
Any Archer 2+ for swift step crit rate buff

Other classes will benefit from Falconer that isn’t falc 3, like:
Hackapelle
Most Swordsman classes

Mostly due to circling AoE Defense Ratio reduction, which allows them to hit more.

Cause right now falconer3 provide both aoe dmg and support for your party (everyone loves aiming) and for yourself (mergen loves aiming circling aar boost) , that’s why it’s popular. Mergen 2 is still okay now with triple arrow attribute and quick casting homing arrow, but it’s only for yourself, in party play falconer3 is better. But people still have hopes that mergen will shine in circle 3

What I’m getting at is group play, ET, raids ect. I’m not a ToS pro, but all archer circles lack AOE unlike sword, wizard and cleric. It seems silly and frustrating that you are most likely required to have falconer circle 3 to get a spot over say the legendary elememelok.

I was just wondering if falconer circle 2 with worthy enough of a grouping spot for higher level content. I’m not too interested in a single player game, love group content.

Well, you have your answer there. Falconer 3 is the way to go.

Every swordsman (or everyone else, really) will need or want Aiming, more so once we get cryo3 frost pillar nerf.

Ok falconer 3 seems like the only way to go for archer group content atm. That answers my question. I’ll give it a go when its not required.

I just returned to the game, so a lot of questions lol. I’d like to not grind past 330 to find out its solo farm only build. For so many circles in each of the classes, only a few seem pve group worthy.

one way to approach this is there is a huge power spike when you get aiming at fal c3, that is why most rank 9 doesnt matter as long as you have aiming.

I appreciate the non BS answers. I have no interest in birds. So ill stay away from archer till its not required.

You should try Bullet Marker 2.

Not sure about ET, but they deserve a spot in raids and CM6-7.

Bloody Overdrive Ricochet destroys monsters in your screen.

well, you will always encounter meta-builds which is the sad part of the game(especially if you’re a solo player), you can try to be diverse as possible but it’s hard to out-dps meta-builds (if solo).

I’m currently in 330-360 xp slow grind on my enchanter as casual player and it’s pretty slow since the lack of group play anymore. I’d hate to do the grind all over again for a chance at a deserved spot. Thanks Lostac, i’ll just try again later.

I wouldn’t care so much about the bird, but this games AI is horrible. I did the hunter thing back in the day and it was unplayable. Can’t see any reason to deal with that again for 2 skills with 3 circles invested.

Alright, good luck and have fun!

:satisfaction:

You don’t really have to worry too much right now, there’s far less discrimination in the game compared to before.

I remember a long time ago, it’s either pelt or get out if you are a swordsman class. Then we started showing off our doppels with one hitting punish before the nerf lol

Where are you even getting this? People don’t care enough right now. I can even bring my dumb Alchemist to Stg.6 runs.

Falconer 3 get an upper hand in looking for parties because they bring more support, which does not require as much gear. If you’re going full DPS then you better gear up.

I’ve ran Stg.7 with well geared SRs and BMs and Stg.6 with Cannoneers, Hackas, and Musketeers. They’re all fine. The ever so slight problem with your build isn’t that you don’t have Falconer 3, it’s just that Falconer 3 brings more than Mergen 2.

But at the end of the day, no one actually cares unless you just wanna try really really really hard.

Bird AI actually vastly improves with Falconer 3 since C3 has an attribute that doesn’t let the bird fly away after skills.

Despite it being my main, I think that falco3 received a significant improvement in overall performance and aoe support. I think if anyonr will play an archer build, any build with falco3 should be attleast tried once

The bird AI isn’t bad.
It never was as terrible as the Hunter’s one to start with, and now they made it so your birdy cannot ditch you (which was annoying, especially for Falconers 1-2) so there’s really no issue with the bird AI at all anymore.

Also for your “ew meta” thing, I can understand. The culprit is definitely this babe: https://tos.neet.tv/skills/31011
The range is so great, all the mobs get melted. It especially works well with any build that has aoes which means… most popular classes.
The bird also actually deals great damages, so it’s really not “2 skills with 3 circles invested”. Imo Falconer is seriously worth it. And the beauty of it is that it also works with any classes, any builds, any parties (it doesn’t mean it’s a must have though).

Ok so I gave the bird AI a try… and wow the aoe damage for falconer 3 is crazy good with sub par gear (lvl 294). Compared to a few other aoe type classes I’ve tried, this one just blows the doors off anything else. I can see why folks are ‘flocking lulz’ to this build. I did the sapper 3 falconer 3 build and I’m very impressed on the aoe possibilities. Cannot image how strong it could be with prime gear.
