Falconer c1 still worth it after circling nerf?

I’m trying to come up with a cannoneer build and looking through other builds, they all suggest taking falconer c1 with it. All the builds I’ve seen are from pre nerf so my question is if it’s still worth taking falconer c1 after the circling nerf? I honestly don’t know which circle could replace it since all other options are kind of meh as well.

Do you have a source for this nerf? As of yesterday level 5 circling was still letting me AoE all the medium mobs my multishot could hit.

I’ve yet to see an actual source for that supposed nerf. Most of the threads seem to link to a Snipe nerf instead, and that decreased the AoE area of Snipe rather than the AoE defense ratio minimum. Even if ktos did have Circling nerf, there is no reason to assume it is coming over to us, seeing as there are already balance differences between the two versions.

So what does this mean? Circling should be only rank 3 or 4 at best? And what exactly does it do? Does it enlarge your AOE or just allow you to hit multiple mobs with spells that otherwise do single target damage?

If this is true, I don’t get why they should nerf it. Circling isn’t that OP right now. It’s pretty decent with its 35s cooldown. It’s not like every archer skill works with it. And why are they changing the AoE Ratio mechanics? It’s a vital part of the game. And if they nerf circling, they might as well remove this class.

I think what they wanted was for it to be a support class for other people or for the Falconer themselves, but never expected it to be that good with Musketeers and stuff. Just a guess.

It is a semi-support class as of now. And Snipe aoe circle was reduced AFAIK.

but where is the patch note about that…
everything i saw about that is rumor…
im pretty sad if that is real…becausa multishot aoe is so good for pve.
i hope that not happen.

AoE skills have an AoE attack ratio, mobs have an AoE defense ratio. These two ratios interact to determine how many mobs in the AoE area are hit by the attack. The Circling skill decreases the AoE defense ratio of mobs by the level of the skill, so a level 5 Circling will decrease it by 5. Large mobs generally have an AoE defense ratio of 3, medium 2, and small 1, so a high enough level Circling decreases all of them to 0. And an AoE defense ratio of 0 lets an AoE attack spread to all eligible targets (i.e. within the AoE area).

A good place to see this in effect is the Mokusul Chamber. There’s a Medium sized flower mob that often spawns on top of itself, so you sometimes have four or five in one place. A normal Multishot would spread its damage across all of them somewhat evenly and leave them all alive, but by debuffing them with Circling first you can kill all of them in one Multishot cast.

There is no patch note. As far as I can tell, this is all about a mistranslation/misinterpretation of the Snipe nerf.
