Wrong, all Hunter skills are Strike. Including Snatching, of course.
huh? Took me 3 days to get it. By the time I had it they had already patched that crashing-reset thingy.
EvoCracker is in reference to a couple of guild mates that transfered some materials to help me build it, and the memo is in reference to another guild mate that has an amazing 220 weapon and wouldn’t stop trying to make me jelly about it.
Actually they have no property, if you hover over the description they mention no property type, just “physical - melee”. I don’t remember clearly but I think snatching used to boost retrieve’s damage once, guess they changed it to avoid that.
It is Strike. I collected this info long ago.
You may test it by deactivating the Snatching attribute + use snatching.
Your damage should half.
Unless they patched it
Guess they changed it. in comparison to other skills it only list physical as its property https://tos.neet.tv/skills/30402 unlike falconer’s skill which list strike on many of them.
@greyhiem
Well I can now confirm that you guys were right about snatching beign strike. I thought that “strike +50” didn’t mean much so I went and tried as greyhiem suggested and turned off the attribute, that proves that it’s indeed strike (atleast for now).
Here more video if you fancy.

Heheh.
Just thought about something. Could it be that the modifier vs flying type from the 2h bow is taking place twice?
Been playing around further with the attribute. What I saw contradicts everything I once thought.
For starters, the damage that gets replicated uses the stats from the source to calculate the new value. The new damage sometimes is higher some lower. It also seems to carry over damage % increases like the 2H bow to allow double dip and it has independant critical chance, uses the source’s critical rate to calculate.
So the damage property I couldn’t confirm it being strike, it probably just carries over the original or it’s without property.
So when I reached the 199,999 damage it must of been the combination of 2H damage boost vs flying and the damage type from snatching “strike” being also carried to hit a target under snatching’s debuff.
It’s not as amazing as I once thought, but it’s still amazing regardless, after all circling’s original intent was to just reduce AoE def and just cause it also can boost a party’s damage now. I love it.
I realized these things when I used circling in tenet garden to help a low level character, his hits when replicated did not crit and the damage was around similar to the original.
One question, is the damage from other source duplicated by circling atributer egistered as damage from circling skill?
Yes it is. It’s listed like so in the journal, asked a dragoon when we grinded in tymeris and he had “Circling” listed as the most damage dealing skill in there.
I have a few questions: Why not max snatching/Coursing over Praise. Did you put any stats into Pet Stats? Why retrieve over Coursing? Can you take a screenshot of your skills?
Hawk? hawk does not need any stats. Right now the damage is only calculated from the archer’s stats.
Hunter skills all work similar with the exception of rush dog.
And for skills:
Archer 2
Swift step 10 Multishot 10 Full draw 1 Oblique shot 4 Heavy shot 5Hunter 3
Coursing 6 Snatching 5 Praise 5 Rush dog 15 Retrieve 10 Hounding 1 Growling 3Falconer 3
Call 1 Circling 15 Hovering 10 Pheasant 1 Hanging shot 1 Sonic strike 7 Aiming 5 Pre-emptive strike 5Omitted skills are at lvl 0.
Circling beyond lvl 5 right now is not really needed on PvE, PvP it’s another story, but I’ve never used it for that purpose in PvP anyway.
Youre amazing! Thanks man. Im a Archer 2 Hunter 3 Falc 3 and the utility we bring is just godly. I cannot wait till we can give pets bows and armor.
Oh i edited my other reply but i think it was after you saw.
Why not max snatching/Coursing over Praise.
Why retrieve over Coursing? When 10 in retrieve outbeats the defense down from coursing?
Why points into Praise at all?
Hounding 1 is to fix the pet being stuck right?
Why now max both Hovering and Sonic Strike? With the patch to turn one or the other off coming soon?
The defense decrease from coursing is flat as far as I know. At lvl 6 coursing deals 3k vs retrieve at lvl 10 dealing 5k per crit. Also retrieve just worked, remember the time when coursing made your pet stuck for eternity? me too! I did not want that to happen.
I never maxed snatching since I played without reading any guides, I thought to myself “hah, what an useless skill only works vs flying type” then I put a single point to it like at lvl 140 and I was astonished, yet retrieve and growling win over a situational skill.
Why praise? Well I was a young naive hunter that thought that +45 meant something, how wrong I was, still it doesn’t really justify burning a skill reset.
Yes hounding was only to “unbug” the pet, did more harm than good in its time. useful at pvp, don’t recommend more than a single level to it for pvp though, its cooldown is rather short.
I wanted circling at lvl 15 so I didn’t max either hovering nor sonic strike, to be honest their damage is quite low, I doubt that +600 or +900 damage will make all the difference.
So hypothetically if you had a stat reset for hunter what would you put points into? I just reset my skills and im curious what I should put them into for hunter is all.
Ignoring the possibility of “Praise” becoming an actual useful skill I’d say:
Coursing at 5
Snatching at 12 ( wouldn’t recommend using this skill vs rexipher at this high duration though, at lvl 5 last long enough to avoid revenged sevenfold, still the only boss to use that skill, for now)
Growling at 3
Hounding at 1
Retrieve at 10
Rush dog 15
That’s ignoring praise becoming useful at anypoint and dear god after the changes to sapper there might be some hope.
If only Coursing/Retrieve worked vs Bossed T–T Id even take it where it slowed the boss instead of snaring them just for the sake of them working on bosses.
And what would you expect them to change about praise? % based modifiers?
That would be way too good. But yeah, I’m hoping for something like that.
anyway we’ve derailed this thread long enough, If you want to continue send a PM and if you’ve got further observations about circling’s attribute, please, do list them here.
