Falconeer/Musketeer with Snipe and AoE

So I’ve browsed a lot on the issue and can’t seem to find a definitive answer, so I’m hoping it’s own topic will generate something.

I’m basically curious about the nerf to snipe’s AoE when used with circling. There’s a video that’s not hard to find which shows an archer doing insane snipe AoE damage with circling. Since then, there has been a nerf to snipe’s ability to AoE. Most people seem to say that it still can hit multiple targets (i.e. as AoE) but only with circling. Additionally, there’s also apparently a nerf to circling which no longer reduces an enemy’s AoE defense below 0 (apparently it could drop to -5).

So… can anyone confirm if snipe will still AoE with circling? Also, if you had high AoE ratio gear, would that improve it all (e.g. vubbe gaunts, 2x gladbangs, etc.)?

I really wanna know that as well!

the nerf is on Snipe AoE circle… before the nerf the area of Snipe are bugged, so hiting alot of screen out of the skill circle.
now the area is small… still a AoE and can hit more with circling, but u need to group all on the small circle of the snipe.

Ahh, got it. Thanks anderson.

the aoe has become absolutely tiny, you really need aoe+ to make use of the combo if you want to use it to hit more then 2

Is it just currently in ktos? or was it implemented in itos too?

from personal experience my falconeer musketeer with +2 aoe ratio I can hit maybe 3 reliably with snipe in circling. So i’m assuming its changed here.

Maybe it scales up more dramatically with better aoe ratio? However its extremely expensive to gear that way.

The nerf wasn’t to AoE ratio. The nerf was to the size of the Snipe targeting circle.

The thing in question is when you hold your Snipe button to aim, you get a small aim crosshair. If your crosshair was within the enemy’s target reticule, your hit them.

Before the nerf, the actual size of the aim crosshair for Snipe was about the size of say Hail from Elementalist. If you had Circling lower the AoE ratio of enemies to 0, you could Snipe a Hail sized AoE with Snipe for Snipe level damage.

They fixed this by making the aim crosshair of Snipe the actual size of the aim crosshair.

I see… So If I’d have to play falconer, I’d have to group them all up with a pavise or something then circling + snipe (with everything in the crosshair) or if I’m lucky, I’d have a linker in the party.
