They’ve got regular % modifiers.
Seism is a 1.7x modifier
Earthwave is 2.65x.
It’s just cosmetic.
Take your Earthwave for instance damage and calculate it as normal, subtract defense. Multiply it by 2.65x (2.75x with a 2h Spear) and you’ll find the damage will aline perfectly with your Min-Max values before accounting for Bonus damage (Sacrament/Arde, etc).
EG. If you have 200 Min attack and 210 Physical attack. On a 52 defense Enemy a level 3 Earth wave (566)
is 766-776 damage - 52 for
714-724 damage. Using a 2h Spear (+10% damage).
You have 2.65 with the additive 1.1 for 2.75.
Damage will be 1963 (truncated .5) - 1991.
On a Cloth Enemy.
Easiest means to find them is with the Hp addon.
Take your Min attack + skill damage on one side, and Max attack + skill damage on the other side. Enemy defense and keep comparing the damage of your
Min attack + Skill damage - Defense and Max attack + skill damage - Defense vs the damage dealt to figure the % increase. Or just take off your weapon if the skill doesn’t require it and it’s pretty easy to find out their damage output.
Only thing that may be different is their scaling with Bonus/Elemental damage.Which I can probably check on my Sadhu’s OoB or Seism with concentrate.
Edit: After a quick check with Seism. The damage of level 5 concentrate was still exactly +111 to the skill so the 3 three hits still calculated it as one.
Unless there’s a difference for Elemental, it’ll be the same deal.
New Edit June 14th
Earthwave is 2.5x. I tried to deduce the 1h modifier since my Cata doesn’t use 1, as a quick job instead of definitely getting that aspect. The end result is the same for Cloth enemies with a 2h Spear (2.5*1.1 = 2.75, just as 2.65 + 0.1 = 2.75) but it will throw you off.
The modifier for 2h spears is in a different tier so it’s multiplicative.
Would be nice if the damage formula thread was still being maintained to help sort out the tier bonuses.
