Why would you need to play your own gender? It doesn’t make any sense. The game isn’t about finding someone to date or e-harmony. Just doesn’t make sense you have such an issue with people playing the opposite gender.

It’s flat out more interesting to play as the gender that I’m not. I get to be what I am all the time. Why not trying something different in a video game?
Yes. Males usually look godawful in mmos. Overcompensation, vapid armor, lame hair, it goes on and on. I may as well play as a cute girl.

Sigh, this is a dumb topic… Anyway, I will create a cleric male character and a female wizzard character.
My character isn’t me and I don’t play games as myself unless I am forced to (which usually results in me not playing the game.)
I play as a character I like to guide through the world. That character is generally female because I prefer cute / endearing characters and male characters are generally not as cute as female characters.
An old RO buddy of mine, by the way, was a girl who only played male characters. Her reason was that the female classes looked disgusting and/or overly sexual (and because she suffered constant sexual harassment from everyone who approached her.)
I have never played a single game as a female character without being solicited for sex within five minutes of logging on by the way. Even goddamn Gaia Online isn’t safe.

the reason is simple, its because every game I’ve played I’m a female (well except for the original RO …I’m a male there) …female character are more attractive to look at …most games (western game mostly) have a huge build body male, I never like that lol

Tera’s High Elf male were pretty androgynous with the proper facial features.

I will make multiple chars, one of which will be in fact female. You see I live by a philosophy, I rather stare at a female char for countless hours rather than a male one.

Let everyone do what they want, as long as they don’t fake their real gender, everything is fine.

There are many ways to expose your opinion, if you don’t like males playing with female characters it’s alright, not everyone likes it, but be respectful to the others when their opinion differs from yours.
