Explosion of men creating female chars

I was watching some videos of the Korean CBT3 and every male korean youtuber created a female char.
and since RO is famous for their huge amount of men playing with female chars i ask you my dear friends

do you intend to play as a male char or a female? and why?

Myself i’ll create a male char, since RPG is about role playing, i want my avatar to represent me, and been seen as a man, instead of passing the ilusion of being a female

just my opinion, and you guys?

Its so common seeing a lot of crossdressers, like 90% of the females are really males, anyway, ill play my own gender, cause well its about roleplaying…

This topic won’t turn out nice.

I will play as male, cause i like them a lot.

I can’t roleplay myself because I’m a 6’3 white guy with a beard, so I’ll essentially play whatever I want. That’s what I always do in games. I never play humans in games unless it’s the only choice, anyway.

“shemales”?

@kyesse if there was SJW here your post is going to get triggered. Consider changing your title of your thread its kinda disrepectful.

A character is something you create, you play, you customize… I can’t even imagine myself creating a male perfectly knowing that I don’t like male characters.
Roleplaying doesn’t mean you have to play your gender, it means you play the gender you WANT.
So I guess I will start the game with a female character, and I’m not one of these who “make use of it”.

YOU TRIGGERED MY TRAP CARD

Anyway.

  • Don’t limit alternate-gender players to your reasoning of ‘passing the illusion of being female’.
  • I will play both, with varying factors on the decision. (i.e. class, time, name availability)
  • People have a lot of reasons for doing what they do. Don’t just go ahead and decide it for them…

#WAIFU

you also forgot WAIFU context,

most otaku make characters to be in image of their waifu

Depends of the class I will use, if I play as Priest probably I will play with a male character, but if I play with a swordman or Archer I will play with a female character.
I like cute stuff so in most MMO I play with a female character.

Male, for obvious reasons, <-- is a man

Doesn’t that mean your character role play you not you role play your character? Whatever the case I will role play a cute little magical girl, that is what I always want to be in real life. And that is also the reason why I never trust any “girl” in an MMORPG to be real girl unless proofs.

I dont get how a guy playing a female character counts as “shemale” or a “cross dresser”

Additionally, find the use of those words inappropriate.

This is pretty normal in gaming o_o

i’m sorry my friend, wich is the righ word or term to use?

Female players arnt there to cater to your weird fantasy dude.

Well i always play male chars unless the class i like is gender locked on female. I do like the topic but the tittle seems very disturbing. also it does seem weird when ppl say they make female chars to see the booty. I wish ppl wud just make there IG gender same as there IRL gender But this is the internet. LOL

I’ll be playing Male or Female depending on the class.

High DPS Barbarian/Corsair would be male.
Hoplite/Centurion will be female.
Alchemist will probably be female.

But really for a game like this you can play pretty much anything and it doesn’t really matter. Its not like the pixels are showing much skin to begin with xD. Hardly can distinguish between male and female that much anyway so play w/e floats your boat.

RPGs are about many things and can be played in any way within the software’s limitations. If you want to play as a character that looks like your physical body and/or fits your identity, that’s perfectly fine, but the concept of ‘role-playing’ in games is quite the opposite of replicating your everyday self.

You might also want to avoid using a term that is mostly associated with pornography and has nothing to do with game avatars.
