Explain this Token BS to me please

Okey so…
We can’t trade the token to none token users.
We can’t gift the token. Can’t mail players at all
I can’t put it up on AH to lose 10% of it because I don’t have 500k. NOR can we trade money between characters only 1 item?
WHY are they making it so hard to help out your friends like really? Every new thing I find out about this token bs is a turn off more and more each day.

What?? But imc spent so much time and EFFORT making this amazing game that plays so BUTTERY SMOOTH. And shouldn’t players be THANKFUL for all these restrictions? After all, it’s in order to STOP THE BOTS that are ruining this game! That’s why they’re not EVERYWHERE anymore. So we should all chip in and keep the devs from STARVING because they’ve made such an amazing game and give them $18 for these tokens, which are totally a GREAT deal, especially when compared with any other MMO out there! You should stop COMPLAINING and being so ENTITLED with your purchase and just be more LOYAL to imc for even giving you such an AMAZING opportunity in the first place! Sheesh!

It’s the Anti-Bullying Safety Measure Act (ABSM).

With this system in place, we no longer need to live in fear of being cast out of friend circles, cliques, and other people’s families. With the inability to help each other, everybody will be forced to play on largely equal ground; no one will receive freebies from the veteran Revelators, as that can create a discrepancy between the more popular newcomers and the less popular ones.

Furthermore, with the implementation of the ABSM, the obligation to be generous toward your fellow Revelators has been abolished. No more will you be forced to get out of your own way and give away your long and hard-earned treasure, just because your “friend” is pitching a fit.

The people you see around you are not your friends. They are purely business acquaintances, and nothing more. Do unto them only what will shut them up, and move on with your day.

Thanks to the ABSM, IMCgames no longer needs to worry about their customer base feeling starved of riches while their neighbors line their pockets with silver.

Thank you for voting in ABSM!

Instead of complaining why don’t you suggest the ability to gift TP to someone? Then you can just give TP to someone to get a token.

Actually, you can’t trade tokens to other token users, either.

But you can have your “friend” list an item for 715k, then you buy it on your account and sell a token for 500k, that way even after the 30% tax, and in 48 hours, they’ll have enough money to buy a token.

All they need is 7150s to list the item, and to find an item that can be sold for 715k in the first place. They won’t find anything useful that early in the game, and most of the actual items of worth have maximum prices lower than 700k to combat RMT, but anything worth less than garbage won’t have any price estimation yet, so you can list those for any price you want. The actual item doesn’t matter, and you can throw it out after, but there’s tons of crap nobody will ever sell other than to transfer silver between accounts so just pick one.

just play a bit and u will have 500k, and hurry cus token prices will skyrocket once f2p releases and “smart” ppl should be stacking some cheap ones

I mean this is all fine and good for now… but doesn’t this effectively make this game P2W? I think most F2P players won’t be able to afford tokens especially if they end up costing many many millions of silver (which I could totally see happening).

Because that wouldn’t be as trendy. Don’t you know that complaining about every feature of any game ever released is all the rage? Start being an entitled teenager and join the party today!

it will hapen, and faster than u think, ppl selling for 500k now are crazy…
and its not that hard, when u get high level u can get milions even being f2p

We’ll see

I certainly hope you’re right, but I don’t think enough F2P players would have the patience to get to the high levels to find out if tokens are cheap. Especially when they:

  1. don’t have 30% xp bonus
  2. have fewer dungeon runs
  3. have slower move speed (and thus kill speed)
  4. have higher market taxes
  5. and have fewer opportunities to sell items on said market…

But who knows… we’ll find out how determined they are come F2P. My prediction? It’ll be a flood and then a mass exodus from this game.

EDIT: Me? I was personally hoping this game would be a big success but I think everyone can agree that’s not going to happen. So what does that leave? Maintaining roughly current levels of players would be good, but I still think that’s a really optimistic forecast. What do others think?

Let me preface this comment with, “I can understand the frustration with how things are set up atm.”

Honestly imo, I think they should get rid of the whole token thing and run more of a Wakfu type thing. 8$ sub with good bonuses and a non imposing cash shop with option to play for free. The tokens are just an annoyance but they are nice in the fact those who can’t pay, can play til they get enough silver. Problems aside of course.

I have a token so I guess I’ll be staying around.

Ideally, the higher the price of tokens gets, the more people will spend TP to sell them to earn loads of silver, so the price would be relatively normalized. Depends how inflated the economy gets from other factors.

I think it’s other issues than monetization that will kill the game, if anything.

How much silver would YOU want to get for $18?

my constructive reply to this topic - since this wasn discussed yet i had to try hard to create a proper reply

IMC is the king of all RMT, because, think about it. They sell tokens to people for RL money, those people, in turn, sell the tokens off for 500k. RMT!!!

My favorite is when some people insist its just “pay for convenience.” The ability to exchange out of game resources for in game resources is how I would define “pay to win.” Some are worse offenders than others sure, but theres not really room for the semantics game in this context.
