Exp sharing method

Can someone that actually datamined things, know people that did, or got any official response on the devs explain exactly how the party exp sharing works? I’ve tested yesterday playing with a 4 people party (tank linker, barb and healer) to play at chapels JUST GRINDING, from lv44 to 61. All members were kindda on this same range of levels, but the healer was 20 something.

Strangely, everyone got close to lv60 and he only went to 30 something. I know about the exp tables progression and the amount that we need to get 15 levels was bigger than him to get his 12 or something. We used only “equal sharing”. Also, for him the exp penalty should never apply, and we were all at Malka Altar so we were close to each other.

Was the “Sharing radius” too small so maybe he got less cause he was not too close to the mobs? Maybe do the exp penalty bugs and applies to him too? Is actually some kind of hidden exp penalty for HIGHER mobs, contrary to what most people have datamined?

EDIT: Also, another question: How the other sharing methods work? The “exp priority by level” doese exactly what? The lower level gets more or all the exp or something?

i think he had the exp penalty and there is no bug about that.

the average level of monsters in chapel 1F and B1 is 40~44 wich means he had around 20 lvl difference with those monsters wich represents a 80% exp penalty.

I don’t think being in a team with higher levels will change anything about it, as i had the same problem during a donjon and i guess its to prevent powerlevel.

but people were saying xp penalty only applies to mobs LOWER then you not above.

As august said. The formula implies that only monsters below your level receive exp penalty.

Also, bonus info: People told me that overkilling gives 3x exp.

I forgot to say something else so now I edited the main post.

xD seeing the chart you cans ee that 20-30 takes (almost) as much exp as 45-60

Once your party members hit 46, the exp required to lvl up dropped dramatically. Did you notice that you instantly gained 3 levels from 46-49? So what you experienced isn’t really all that strange.

I’m aware of that, the Exp Tables were linked to the thread. It wasnt that.

It wasn’t that? I’m pretty sure you could lvl from 20~3x while your party lvl’d from 45~5x, due to this exp change. The higher lvl mobs don’t really give all that much more exp than mobs that the lvl 20 would be fighting at his lvl.

Read the thread, man. Lol. All that info that you’re providing is already aware, the exp and monster tables are on the first post.

I have. I’m just contesting the fact that you say “It wasn’t that” when to me, it clearly was. Given the information we both know, how is this not explained?

You’re saying “a lvl 20 can’t lvl to 3x while in a party of people lvling from 46 to 5x, given the numbers, and something is wrong” and I don’t believe that’s true.

Alright, thanks for the feedback!

I think what @zhouyu47 means is that your cleric friend unfortunately was in the level zone hard to up and the remaining of the party (including you) was in the zone easy to leveling according to the chart you provided.

I make myself clear?

What you’re saying would make sense only if there was an XP penalty for being in party with higher leveled members. Since there is nothing even slightly suggesting this, I can only disagree with your point of view.

The other explanation would be the distance limitations for sharing XP and Loot when in a party, and this one is stated in here: http://toswiki.treeofsaviorgame.com/mechanic/party?s[]=party

@Rizzou
Apparently the AoE radius for sharing might just be closer than the spot your healer was standing everytime your group killed a mob.

No, I’m saying that given full exp, this isn’t so far off.

Exp from lvl 20->34 = ~490000
Exp from lvl 46->57 = ~543000

Depending on the exact numbers of the levels gained between the party and the lvl 20 guy, this isn’t far off from what you’d expect.

Here is what happened, once you guys hit 46 you got xp so quickly that you distanced 15 levels from him, so everything you killed gave him 1 xp from there onwards.

@lms2720 unfortunately there is. Players 15 levels higher of above share 1 xp from their kills.

Would this mean that the share by level option would be superior to use in a wide range party?

Nah, by level only gives a higher percentage to higher level players but the 15 level range limit still applies.

Thanks @Sabin ! Thats the kind of info that I was looking for! But, can you mind telling where is that stated? Also, where did you learn that the “Share by level” gives higher percentage to the higher levels? I was thinking that it would be the opposite, but also didnt found any info.

@lms2720 I figure it might be this radius, but the link you posted didnt explained that mechanic. Some people say that you have to be appearing on the screen on the other, but since the zoom-out option goes pretty far, I dunno.
I also worry that might have a bug where, if you not in radius, your not getting the exp, but the other guys loose it like they would be sharing without.

using Xp viewer on reddit to check how much xp each mob gives me. Quite the useful tool.

Tell me more…? Is it like an addon or what?
