finally someone who speak my mind, THERE ARE BIGGER ISSUES THAN EXP RATES!
How can I know he knows the most effective way to level or just because he have spent all his day and night into the game, etc? Doesnāt mean that I am saying his opinion is wrong nor he should play any other way. What I disagree is that his opinion is still an opinion and should not be considered higher than the ones from avg players.

If the highest level achieveable was 80 or 100 or something like that, Iād say its ok to start grinding at level 24-30 whatever.But the level cap is 500, and after playing 2 day straight I only got to level 40(was quite lucky with blues too).
I couldnāt even reach %10 of level cap,yet Iām already grinding,thatās what makes people say its way too grindy.(consider reaching level 7-8 after farming/grinding 20 h total,in a level 80 cap game)

We all know that bugs and mistranslation will be fixed when the developers know about them so we feel safe to just normally report these bugs once encountered. While this problem about EXP is the developersā intention, if there isnāt enough pressure from players, it will never be changed. Thatās why people like me are pushing it.
Now if these many bugs get carried over to the release it will be a bigger problem but I very doubt that.
Saying because itās beta that we shouldnāt not pushing these issues is nonsense. Rather because it is in beta that we still have a chance to do something before it becomes a much bigger issue.

Level 84 needs 10,133,612 exp total.
Level 200 needs 209,700,176 exp total.
The highest level player is 5% of the way to the maximum level in this beta. If it took him 4 days to reach this, itāll take him 80 days to reach level 200.
Level 300 needs 1,063,166,528 exp. Level 84 is 0.95% of that much exp. That means itāll take him 416 days to reach level 300.
Just a reminder, maximum level is 500-600. If we assume every 100 levels is 5x more exp needed, itās 5 billion for level 400 (2080 days to 400, or 5 and a half years), and 25 billion to 500 (8400 days, or 22 years). 1.25 trillion is level 600, which is going to take 88 years.
But remember guys, the exp rates in the game are just fine!
Youāre assuming that mob exp doesnāt increase and that youāll still be getting the same low level EXP cards.
Both of which is untrue, so your math for how long it takes is a bit off.
Iāll show you how itās off. Lets say it takes 1 hour to get to level 84, so it will be 20 hours to level 200.
Now itās .95% of 300 right? so 2000 hours for level 300, now 10000 hours for 400, 50000 hours for 500, 250000 hours for 600.
So 28 and half years if it takes 1 hour to 84 by your math.
5 minutes to level 84? still 2.34 years to hit 600.
The amount of exp an exp card gives doesnāt increase significantly. Nor does the amount of exp a mob gives increase by any significant number.
It obviously wont take as long as those numbers I stated, but youāre not going to be getting massively more amounts of exp at higher levels. Definitely not an amount proportional to the increase in exp.
Also need to consider that people are playing all day and night because this is a 7 days beta. No one can keep this pace up except for a very very few āelitesā when the game released. It will take much longer for us normalfags.
I have no problem even if the game requires some decays to hit max level as long as it has enough content to make me feel satisfied and rewarded during all that time. But currently it bores me out pretty fast because of this grinding and not enough content for my enjoyment. Maybe the game just isnāt for me, if that is the case then I hope all of you people who claim this early grinding is fine will support the game enough to help it stay alive and healthy for a long enough time.
This game really should add more quests or add some other means to level up (maybe through pvp and alternate activities). There need to be a way to ease players through the lower levels to at least Rank 3 because at that point I feel people would have a better understanding of their class and stats they have distributed. Right now the game is already ātiringā and its bad when a game feels tiring just at the beginning levels. Iām level 37. My finger were literally in pain from jabbing the basic attack button for so long while grinding at Tenant Garden (spelling?). The grind is real. IMC please remedy this if you actually want people in the West to stick with the game for the long haul. My other concerns are mentioned in my feedback.
44 hours into the game now and another huge grind session later and iāve now just turned 61! Thatās 5 Lvlās In just 7 hours! Only 139 more levels to go till cbt cap! Iām sure Iāll make it before obt!
Exp rates are Fine. Been watching A ToS stream because I have no beta key for a Few Hours. I feel like Kayaba Akihiko From SAOā¦ Just watching from aboveā¦
Not to be rude or anything, but I donāt really now how you can base that from watching someone else. Remember this is a game with 500 lvls max. And atm iām getting one lvl every 1 and 1/2 hours, that number is only going to rise the higher lvl you get so I can only imagine how long Itās going to take to lvl from 200 - 201ā¦ Weāre talking about a game thatās probably gonna take 3-4 months to level to 500 and thatās if you play for atleast 8 or so hours a day. I can only pray for the people who wanna play this game ācasuallyā.
With all this in mind, the amount of people who do want to play this game more casual than us āhardcoreā players will be, and always has been, much, much more. I can 100% see this turning them off big time. Which means good bye revenue.
When will you people get it? FUC*K the level number! THERE IS NOTHING TO DO BUT PRESS Z ALL THE TIME, WHATS THE POINT? What is my reward? This borefest? Is this your concept of hard?
Eh imho I think itāll take you the same time to levle at 200 that it is taking you to level now. Also do you really think its good if you and every fucker around can get to level 200 in 7 days when the game gets released? thatād mean 3 weeks-4 weeks to get to 600(max level). Hell no. I want this game to AT LEAST take me 2-3 monhts to get to max level playing 6 hours a day(on average, more on weekends less on weekdays). So thatād take someone playing 3 hours a day 4-6 months and someone playing 2h a day 6-9 months.
Thatās the dumbest thing anyone has said about a video gameā¦ You lvl to get skills which do cool things and/or look pretty. You lvl to fight new and exciting monster/bosses. You lvl to explore the massive beautifully sculpted world. You lvl to find unique gear and cosmetic items. you lvl to engage in high lvl pvp and raids. And you lvl to continue the story. If you think none of them are important then why in the world are you playing video games? If you think the game is boring then you probably shouldnāt be playing it. Not much in the way of story, questing, and progression is going to change. Theyāre only translating, bug fixing, and tweaking. For the most part tos is feature complete.
Maybe the soluciĆ³n of this for the open beta is have 2 serversā¦ One with medium-high rate and other with low rate exp.
Remember, this is the first international closed beta
No, you should not separate your player base. It would be stupid if you had players getting to max level in 1 week and blowing everything for the other guys(exploring, hidden classes,etc). UNLESS you found a way to make those different for each server.
