There are a few major things to keep in mind when complaining about the EXP rate.
Many of you aren’t familiar with MMOs that aren’t WoW-knockoffs or other kinds of generic Themepark MMOs where you’re put on a track to endgame through a linear series of quests and zones. ToS is in the vein of games like Ragnarok Online, Sandbox oriented games that rely more on long grinds, itemization, and community than a streamlined leveling experience.
This is also your first time playing, and in a CBT. Tons of content; zones, quest, and repeatables especially. You also lack the knowledge and experience to level in an efficient manner-- None of us do, the game isn’t even out yet.
After Release you will see the leveling time drop exponentially. This has happened in every MMOG I’ve played at launch from RO to UO, from W* to WoW.
Once players get their hands on things, it’ll be broken down and made manageable. Just because the game doesn’t hold your hand and give you a lollipop for 2 hours of questing to get you a quarter of the way to cap doesn’t mean it should be changed.
