Exorcise and Magnus Exorcismus

Bumping this.

Magnus is one of the few cleric skills that can damage flying enemies, so I hope that we can get some applicable uses for it or remove its dependency to exorcism.

Bump. I’m not sure to understand why forcing a chaplain to play a Priest R3 is a good idea?

Sorry for the resurrection, but I was curious about something related to this.

So I get that everyone seems to hate exorcism and I can clearly understand why. The question however is about the exorcise attribute enhance.

TosBase: “Increases the damage dealt on an enemy with [Exorcise] by 1% per attribute level.”

Now does that mean it increases exorcise’s damage, or does it mean the monster itself takes that much more damage from all overall sources?

That would actually make the spell excellent vs bosses…I will have to look at the tooltip on my priest when I hit c3 and test it out.

EDIT:

No tosbase words all of the damage enhance abilities like that, so it would only increase the damage of the skill itself.

Well, that’s certainly dissapointing. I guess the spell remains useless then. Thanks so much for looking into it :smiley:

Can we show these skills some love and get a rework. Exorcise-I think allowing it to stay on the ground when triggered would be a good first step, or even a single target would be nice also.

Exorcismus- not sure how it works dmg wise with exorcise, does it stack the dmg from it or does it only work off its own?(will do some testing later) but could use some aoe in its current state.

how many skill point do you guys put in exorcise to use magnus? 1 skill point or is the magnus dmg depends on the lvl of exorcise?

0 in both. They are awful skills.

Imc really need to look into exorcise and magnus , these skill are really not friendly in dungeon or cword mobs place, it make priest and chaplain handicap with such a powerful skill

+1 Bumping in desparation after using 2 skill points into this.

The Exorcise:Duration passive (Increase the duration of Exorcise’s magic circle by 1 per attribute level) doesn’t prevent the circle disappering when monster step in when I thought it should.
Honestly who need duration increase for something that, in all cases, disappeared right after cast

The only way I can cast Magnus Exorcismus now is: carefully cast Exorcise into blank space, Magnus it, lure mobs into it and enjoy the whole 5 remaining ticks, which damages as much as 1 or 2 Aspergillum-ed auto attack .

May be I should invest 1M silver into the passive to increase the damage into 4 auto attack.

My two cents at a buff, just make exorcise not vanish when something walks over it and make magnus have a slight suction effect on dark and demon type mobs.

Would give Chaplain more endgame options.

Should this topic be moved to suggestion or game play box for better attention from the GM ?

i actually have a suggestion this skill.
and it also kinda fits into how they want the skill to be played
as an skill upgrade casting.

A priest cast “Exorcise”
mob walks over and takes dmg as well as depleting the skill.

priest can cast “Magnus Exorcismus” without needing to cast “Exorcise”
WAIT! before u all start saying “isnt it 2 skill casting anyway?”

nope it isnt.
prerequiste is this.
u gotta cast exorcise first !
and there will be a 5s+/- timer (maybe a new attribute can extend the timer?)
for the player to cast Magnus before the skill becomes grey out again and needing exorcise to be recasted.

this would actually make it sound more applicable and fun too yet not making the skills too OP .

pls like this and refer them to the IMC team so that we can have another build on exorcise and magnus exorismus to appear again.
i miss this skill (back in a certain game we all know wat it is >:3 )

maybe an attribute for exorcise that stops it from triggering on monsters would be enough, just like you can stop heal from doing dmg? that way it could only be used with ME, but atleast be cast under mobs directly

Summoning a dev to this post. I like this and it would be an excellent risk/reward way to make magnus useful.

Bumping for some exo+magnus love. I love the skills in concept, and would like to invest points into them, but right now they aren’t up to par for a c3 skill and a skill requiring said skill.

So far the only thing I kinda like is that exo’s dot should count as a status and would let pd’s incinerate tick longer.

i support this notion.

As it currently stands, I believe that:

A) Exorcise should have either increased tick damage, or increased tick speed - both would be nice as well.

B) Exorcise should have multiple proc hits, let the skill pulse for maybe 2-3 hits in it’s area of effect - capable of effecting all enemies within the area - this prevents/lowers the chance of the current situation, of casting it and, HOPING it doesn’t get resisted for some odd stupid reason, then dealing absolutely no damage while waiting for a 35 second CD.


C) Magnus Exorcismus should be easier to cast, it’d be better if it was a charge skill, each level of charge would increase it’s range, and damage with level 1 being it’s current AOE, and maybe a slightly lower duration than the current, and lvl 5 being who knows how much better.

D) Magnus Exorcismus as it stands right now, could use a range buff at least by a minimum of 1.5x - As it’s name is “Great Exorcism” if translated from latin, currently there’s nothing “great” about it - except maybe the duration. Increased tick damage/speed would be nice as well (though not necessary, the dps of magnus exo isn’t too bad - though barely cutting the line of use-able), but mostly range is the biggest issue for me.

I dont like the way of this skills right now… Magnus exorcismus is the wost skill ever for cleric or chaplain, you cant use this on boss beacause exorcismus is consumed. PLz IMC fix that.
