Hello Saviors,
I want this thread to serve as a collection of all the problems this game currently has, to make it easier for IMC to figure out what is wrong with their game. That being said, please understand that i will not put stuff like class balancing on this list, since that will be fixed in time.
I will split this list into 2 sections called “Major Problems” and “Minor Problems” for ease of access.
Major Problems
-
Performance Problems
while this game is beautifully crafted and the illustrations and game world really lets you feel how much love the developers put into this, it is obvious that the optimization for ToS is nothing short of disastrous. FPS drops, stuttering, screen freezes and lags are just a few of the problems. This might stem from the fact that this game does not access any resources your PC has. my hexacores feel lonely as only 1 of 6 cores is used and my graphics card ? It went into sleep mode while playing the game. -
Rampant Botting, Cheating and Hacking
Money exploits, farm bots, teleport/speed hack, infinite durability hack, no delay hack and chat spam bots. You name it and i can assure you that Tree of Savior has it. Sadly, there is no way to completely eradicate all those problems but a good start would be to have a dedicated crew which can respond to bot reports quickly and efficiently. Also, IMC should look into ways to make more of the general gameplay handled by the server instead of the client. -
Pay to Win
While the term “Pay to Win” is always based on the perception of the individual player, there are a lot of concerns about this games future and with good reason. Premium Tokens which can be sold for ingame money, effectively turning it into IMC sponsored Real Money Trading. Soul Crystals that work in dungeons reducing the need for priests ressurrection to almost zero. Enchant Scrolls that give you a huge advantage over other players (with 3 headgears, you can have around +450 stats more than the average player) are just a glimpse of the future pay to win horror which awaits us. -
Trade and Storage Restrictions
The battle against gold sellers is indeed a noble one, unless its fought on the backs of your customers. Denying players a basic social feature any game has is a very bold move which can only be detrimental for the fun of your players in the long run. An angry player makes a bad customer and will net you no money. In their fight for your wallet, IMC also forgot that there is no benefit to restricting the team storage to premium players or to restrict it at all. Why does the Team Storage which can only be used to trade with your Team need to be restricted ? How can a Gold Seller possibly abuse that ? Also, why does it cost trades which are limited to 30 a month ? Sometimes it feels more like IMC tries to fight the players than it tries to fight Real Money Trading.
Minor Problems

Dungeon Skill Restrictions
A Squire by nature is a support class unless it cant do that for which it was designed. A Squire cant use Repair in dungeons, neither can he build a base camp (which gives all buffs a +20% duration modifier on the same map) and if you want to buff your team mates with a refreshment table or a weapon maintenance, you are out of luck. It is frustrating and unneccesary and should definitely be changed to allow squires and others to assume the roles for which they were designed. -
Quest Bugs
Disappearing quest items, quest npc’s that dont show up and broken achievements are annoying and in some cases (Zachariel Bangle) borderline game-breaking. Luckily, that can be fixed with a little elbow grease. -
Missing comfort functions
“Comfort functions” means all the little things that make the game more accessible . The NPC shop has no buyback function even though it shows you the items you have sold. The option to disable other players effects, albeit being there, does nothing at all. An option to customize your user interface would also be appreciated by many players, especially support classes.
These are just some of the problems this game faces right now. I know that i forgot some of them but i will add them as they surface. Please let me know if you have something to add to this list.
Also, while this game faces a myriad of problems right now, i still feel that it can succeed if we work together and if IMC listens to our fears and concerns. Nevertheless, the framework of this game is beautiful and you should definitely play it.
