Everyone experience with the mob density and respawn rate

I’d like for everyone to reply to this topic telling everyone his/her experience reguarding the mob density and respawn rate in map.

Everytime something happens that destroy your game experience because of these two factors please come here and write it down so that we can put togheter a nice “list” of issues for the DEV team to see.

I’ll start myself in the comments below.

So since i’m full support, lvl 173, already done all missions, the dungeon suck and i don’t have a grinding party i decide to do mercenary dailies and the guy there sends me to Roxona Reconstruction Agency to hunt down Anchor.

So i go to the map, explore it all and finally find the area where anchors spawn.

Only one problem… there’s only 2 channels. there’s 1 guy in every channel to actually farm the anchors… a maximum of 5-6 anchors spawn in the whole map with a respawn time of about 1 minute… and i’m a full support against two DPS both willing to Kill Steal me every single mob since i need to take time to kill them and they can one shot them.

So there’s no dungeons to do, no missions to do, no grinding parties to join… and the only thing i could do to level is impossible for me to do and the only thing i had left to do was to discard the mission and shut the game off.

To be honest, unless you want to drastically increase the monster population, the only solution would be to make quest mobs that are designated as mission targets to be phased out for general public and only available to party members of the person who has the quest.

I mean, I still remember the frustration of having to hunt for a Glizardon on a quest to attach some sort of bomb to it - to no avail. Phasing could potentially solve that.

When x people are in an area with x mission, x amount of extra mobs spawn of that quest type. Code that in please.

I had a quest that wanted me to kill x mobs near a position. I waited very long for the mobs to appear. There are far to many of those quests. Then there are the obligatory dungeons that don’t have quests and seem to want you to grind. Me and my wife kill the monsters within 20 seconds and then have to wait for respawn… It’s just so damn boring. We don’t even need the time to rest… It’s just wasting time really.

Daily quest to turn in a Red Infrorocktor Shell. Drop rate is soo low I didn’t get a single one in 1 hour of farming, I know I was on the right map not only because the quest was suggesting that map, but because a couple days earlier I did get one of those shells to drop from that place and I had used it for the collection. I eventally looked at the clock I told myself “the fu ck are you doing still here?” and moved on, abandoning the quest. In comparison, today I had a quest that required me to turn in a single item (same as for the infrorocktor shell, jsut 1 piece) and it was hoglan beak; in around 20 minutes I got 4 or 5.

Map Penitence Route, a side quest for a paladin guy. The fella asks you to clear the monsters from a certain area, near the cliff. To get credit and advance in that quest you need to kill these monsters in a very limited area, aggro them and drag them there if needed, but they stop following you if you walk to far so you still have to “camp” a spot. There were only 2 channels for that map and countless players stuck on that bottleneck. It took me more than 1 hour to complete it, just sitting there and hoping that I would be able to kill the next monster before some DD oneshot it. Grouping with other players would sovle it, but when most of them just channel-hop to steal kills it’s hard even to whisper them.

DEVs just need to use the Ragnarok experience: momentary mob respawn. There are no needs to wait until next respawn. That makes grind and quests easier.

But locations in Ragnarok was much bigger, so there was possibly to do this practice. It’s obvious, that the increasing of respawn rate by 50% didn’t correct this situation. Imagine, how it will be when the game comes to F2P

It was already proven by lot of players that they didn’t in fact, increase the respawn rate by 50% even if they announced it…

Terrible. Tenet was overrun with bots (even on top floor? WTF?) and I couldn’t get very many kills there so…

For a change of pace I went to “Soldiers Graveyard” to farm some 2-handed swords on my highlander (basically the only map to get good 2-handed drops at that level). I found two channels, two minute spawn times, and plenty of bots running around with gold weapons killing stuff. I spent about a half hour on the map and I think I killed around 45 things that entire time. THAT is bull.

(Also, I think the 50% increase was only on the mobs that “ambush” you… Which is worthless.)

In the level 120’s you will have a few quests that will require you to kill mobs near an object. There is 2 channels and always at least 3 people doing the quest. Mobs barely spawn, and only 3-5 can actually be kited to the object without resetting. It’s pretty bad.
