Thank you for your reply and I appreciate hearing your side of the argument. Although, I’m having trouble understanding your thoughts clearly with your present tone of anger.
At higher levels, Pardoner buffs don’t scale as well as they do in the early levels. The bosses have so much hp that the hit counts of Blessing expire. At level 295, soloing the event is very difficult to the point of failure as my blessing wears off after the werewolf.
The bonus exp gained by queuing as a party versus soloing is slight. Soloing is still a great means of exp and possible with a 5 minute clear up to approximately level 240, depending on class, as I have mentioned and tested personally with my level 50-240 sorcerer, SR, and QS.
I want to clarify that the dungeon was advertised as giving the most exp out of all the previous event dungeons, not regular dungeons. Exp from regular dungeons give a lot more exp than this dungeon.
With a game like ToS that is not afraid of change, how can you say that queues are always bound to character levels? No one can know for sure if the previous design was intentional or not until we get an official press. Take note that the change to the event was not listed under the Bug section but under the Event section - which might make more sense but would still not discredit the possibility of a developer error.
I want to reiterate my point in that if auto matching was reverted back to how they were before, players like me who have 7 characters, which 6 of those I am not leveling, can finish their daily event dungeons and obtain all the event rewards quickly without spending unnecessary time in queue. Which side would benefit the most?
Now, instead of being grumpy online here, we can be collaborative and think of creative solutions to problems like this. One proposal that would appease both sides would be to implement two separate queues. “Auto match with nearest levels” and “Auto match with all”. I don’t know the details behind the programming here, but if a UI change is too difficult, perhaps a pop up asking for “Would you like to queue with players around your level?” Is utilized, you could flag people into different queues without having to change the UI and it would be possible to apply this queueing mechanism to select events in the future.
What do you think about that idea Goldie?
