Editing my A2-R3-F2 to A2-R2-F3

Since the steady aim nerf, i am not sure if i should continue with ranger class 3. so i was wondering if i should switch to A2-R2-F3 and as shown

Would it be bad as i know ranger relies heavily on barrage 15 to grind out their levels. and i heard divine machine arrow isnt that good…

any advice?

ps. running 2 : 1 stats. not sure if i should go higher

thanksss

ranger doesnt really rely that much on barrage 15
dont forget you get more levels in multishot and get the 25% increased crit rate so it evens out for the 5 point loss in barrage.

for fletcher:
id max bodkin over barbed since it cant hit ghost monsters and bodkin gets the ridiculous armor pen, barbed will do stupid amounts of damage but it can become inconsistent, up to you though since you can still crush ghost monsters with your other skills

then id max crossfire for mobbing and magic arrow for the insane single target dps.

pick between divine machine or broad head as your 10 second skill, one is better for aoe the other for single target and mana cost, i lean towards divine machine for the shock attribute though

Uh, Ranger is actually very reliant on its barrage, im R2 atm and Barrage is just god tier.

Its essentially a screen-wipe on 18 sec CD.

The point of picking R3 is not only 15 barrage, but access to spiral arrow, which is an amazing single target nuke, and bounce shot, which is very good at clearing mass packs of trash mobs and complement barrage nicely in the AOE department.

And last but not least Steady Aim 15.

its god tier for leveling
but its not necessary to getting through to lvl 130

you can play archers with no barrage and still get to R5 in a pretty decent amount of time
thats why barrage is not necessary

steady aim was nerfed into oblivion its good to have but it isnt the op 45% damage with 20 second duration anymore, its +20% for only 10 seconds with the 25 second CD

Slightly hijacking OP’s post since I have similar quesitons. How valueable is Barrage/Bounce Shot later on for a Fletcher build? From what I’ve seen they tend to only use Crossfire for AoEing, is it therefore even worth going for Ranger C2/C3 over, say Archer C2/3 to increase single target dps through Multi Shot + Twin Arrows? Twin Arrows seems like a better option for single target dps compared to the massive CD of Spiral Arrow.

Sure you can, but its going to be extremely painful to go for Archer C3 straight away.

Multishot gives you no AOE unless you get AOE ratio items.

Its usually best to pick Archer C2/C3 after QS/Ranger, unless the plan is not to pick either…

doesnt matter if takes longer or w/e the question asked, was, is it necessary or not?
its not, you can still get to 130 by spamming oblique shot.

to tie into @morks question, barrage is still good for a fletcher to make up for crossfires awkward aoe, the main reason people went ranger back then was for steady aim, tbh i think ranger C2 can be replaced by almost anything. but its still the most straight forward and safest option for fletcher. you can replace it with something like hunter C2 for stronger bossing ability but getting more aoe and a situational damage boost isnt bad.

ranger C3 is not op anymore since steady aim got nerfed, spiral arrow is nice but its cd is too long to do much and bounce shot is not really needed since barrage + crossfire takes care of all the aoe needed

thats why A2 > anything, is the preferred choice for the 25% increased crit rate of swift step, at A3 getting twin arrows is nice, but it wont out dps bodkin/barbed as a spamm ability, fletchers single target is mostly from magic arrow though, bodkin/barbed are fillers for magic arrows 5 second CD

You also have to keep in mind that the nerf to steady aim was really big and they might buff it a little in the near future, at least the duration, IMC does balance patchs all the time.

Hmmm, don’t like Magic Arrow, it’s area is too small. But you can kite mobs to it.

I prefer Divine Machine Arrow, It does good damage. Just throw it and start spamming your skills, it’ll explode and add to your damage.
